It seems that my video interface has failed.
It was working one minute and now I do not get external video.
I restarted the pa800 a few times, and sometimes it fails to restart.
I guess I'll have to backup files and reload the OS again.
I am frustrated with the pa800. I am spending more time trying to
debug and get this thing to work, then making music with it.
I am trying t use the sngbook, and it seems inconsistent saving
my STSs etc...I am quickly losing patience...
Is anyone using the video interface with consistent results?

30 min video
I ran a test and turned on the pa800 after a long rest. I brought up lyrics on the video display out through the video interface to an external monitor. I touched nothing, and it stayed up for approx. 30 minutes, then went dark. After that nothing would display. It sounds like it might be an overheating issue with the video interface board. Just to make sure, I am going to backup everything, reload the 1.51 OS and test again. It seems that I have developed a love/hate relationship with this keyboard. I love some of the features, and when it works. I hate that it takes so much time because of it's inconsistent performance, plus with this latest video issue.
I had a great idea to buy a small display 9" monitor (one of the DVD displays for a car/SUV) that takes a composite input. I found one for $129.
Found a power supply (it's 12volt) and wired it up. It works really well,
and sits in the music stand. However, the video fails after 30 min. I'm going to run my test of reloading the OS, and then contact Korg if I need a video card replacement. Once again, no joy yet with this beast...

Hi
Sorry for your problems with the video interface, hope you solve the problem by reinstalling the os. May be they better give you a new one. Mine works fine, so far. I have this 7" TFT 16:9 monitor connected to the interface and it works great. I've had it for a week, but comming saturday will be the first time in "action" on stage, hope it works more that 30min.
Very nice to be able to show lyrics on monitor and somthing else on keyboard display. (e.g. custom list) I'm using EC5 for page up/dwn. I also have a kind of love/hate relationship with this kb. I will blame it on the Korg distributor that gives absolute no support, in other words, if you cant get help from this forum, you are on your own. It looks to me that Korg sales did'nt do a very good job in Norway. My EXP-2 expression pedal broke down and I had a hard time finding a new one,
finally
I hope to have one for my saturday gig. Funny thing that Roland, Yamaha, Boss, and lots og others they were all in stock all over, but not Korg.

Skude, thanks for your reply. I agree that having the lyrics display seperate is a nice advantage. I also am using the EC5 pedal. I hope your gig goes well saturday. I have my first show with this kb Dec 8th @ the Hyatt in Orlando. I was hoping to use the video, but I may not have time to troubleshoot it before then. I still have some more songs that need to be learned/programmed in. That's more important. It's nice to know that yours is working. That way I know I'll find satisfaction
in the end...
BTW what are you using the EXP-2 pedal to control?

Hi
Good luck to you with your first PA800 gig in dec. I get very good feedback from people when I use my PA800. I normally play in a band, and even then I think the 800 works great, I also do gigs by myself and I have been working to get the kb to sound, as close as I can, like a live band
I use the EXP-2 to control KB expression for whatever sound I have as a "solo" sound on upper( sax, guitar, organ). On the EC5 I have 1 fill, 2 var up, 3 var.dwn. 4 page up, 5 harm. on/off. I could use a few more.
I do have some problems with the voiceprossesor if I do changes to presets. The marker is always set to hamony mode - chord. If I by a mistake change this to note and than back to chord again, were I want it. the voceprossesor quit working and I have to use my global backup file to get it to work again. Also using input 1 for mic -to voiceprossesor- output 1/2 I get noise touching anywhere on the keyboard. There seems to be no help to get with this problem. Many of the styles I'm using comes from a third party and have been used in my PA80, there I have saved a perf. to start with count in. When I have made a style ready for the PA800 and save it to start with count in, in songbook or perf. the style will play with whatever drumkit used in previous style
If I hit count in manually before I start the style it works fine. I guess I just have to get used to doing that, I do forget
you know old habits and so on
I have talked to Korg (no) support about my problems, they even made me send them some styles. They had a hard time getting them to play, after I told them to upgrade their PA800
they could play them but I never got any answer back. I don't care so much about the style problem but that noise is very annoying. I know others have the same problem. I guess thats the way it is. Good luck
