Why not go for a Korg Pa2X then going for Korg Pa800. The beauty about Korg Pa2X is that it reads all the other previous models and it has a killer 128Mb of Sampling and it is expandable to 256Mb.

it is a little more money which i did not want to spend & i have never played any KB other than the 61 key...this is a interesting comment from another forum and player
It seems that the PA2X is simply a repackaged PA800 and the PA800 was a PA1X with better poly and sampling ram. The only significant difference other than that was the introduction of the guitar mode which was really the only innovation between the PA1X and PA800 . Just who exactly needs a motorised display screen ?????????? Just an adjustable one would have done nicely.
Does anyone have any info on how long it will take to load 512mb of ram into the new PA2X ? That could be really significant in terms of its useability in live use but simply wonderful in the studio .
For those with the PA1X and PA800 there is little need to change unless you really need the extra sampling ram and 76 keys. I know the PA800 and the PA2x are supposed to have a new sound engine but in all honesty , i cant hear the difference to the old technology. I challenge anyone to close their eyes and tell me if they can hear a difference between them. And I have listened carefully.
The problem for Korg is that they made a ground breaking and outstanding instrument in the PA1x and they have now simply run out of ideas !!!
PS for those that are keen on selling up or dipping into their savings for this "new " Board please ask yourselves why you did not purchase the PA1X pro or PA800 ?? If you did not like either of those and you dont do a lot of sampling (I dont know anyone on this board other than myself that uses an arranger this way ) then think hard about the wisdom in this purchase.Better to buy a PA1Xpro or elite version 3 as it will be so much cheaper and will have vertually the same capabilities , styles and sound quality.

another comment...
It seems that this PA2X is based on the PA800 technology, but hey isn't that what all manufacturers do? In this case they introduced the PA800 first and now the model with 76 semi-weighted keys, no speakers and some pro-features like the MP3 player with transpose function (like the Audya) and 40Gb harddisk. I agree that PA800 owners will not likely be tempted to go for the PA2X unless 76 keys is a must. The same goes for Yamaha: S900 owners will probably not pay the extra bucks for the Tyros2 (almost double the price of the S900). I'm not defending Korg (I have a Roland G70 BTW) but just stating the facts.
A motorised display seems a bit over the edge. I would have chosen to invest those bucks in something else...i did just that 2 amped 80w speakers

First of all it wasnt about E.R. and second, everything E.R. copied from
somewhere was dumb and ignorant. Some of you should learn english better.
Go and read my posts again and you'll see. I comented on the person
that said that PA1X and PA800 can be compared only and PA1XPRO and
PA2XPRO.
Now you are really telling me that it is like that? PA1XPRO is better then
PA1X? I dont know about manners, sometimes when it comes to reality
maners have to be left aside...cuz i cant cuz of manners to agree with you that
PA50 is better then PAX2PRO. Its just a piss off.
How stupid is for someone to say:
Hey you can compare PA1X and PA800 but not PA1XPRO and PA800...
what the hell is the difference between PA1X and PRO? Thats what i call DUMB!!!

Dear nadim, you dont have to allways criticize other peoples english or knowledge of music and embarrass them.
If you really HAVE to do that, then do it in a nice way!! you dont have to use your favorite words everytime.....

I know they were not ER's own post because one of them was mine. This was mine

Now please tell me what was ignorant or dumb about the post. Be specific. The thread was about the PA1X compared to the PA800 and someone suggested that ER look at the PA2X. Go through my response in detail and tell me which part of it was dumb or ignorant.
I have no idea why you are dragging topics from other threads into this one. I have no intention of searching this forum for every comment you have ever made on the PA1X,PA800 or PA2X although they might be very enlightening. I am looking at this thread and the only comment you have made was calling people 'dumb' and 'ignorant.'
Now i ask you respectfully to justify your view directly with comments from THIS thread.

hey everyone what a great response (i bought the PA800) based on the opinions here and else where and the sounds,Korg KB always rock ! I did not mean to offend anyone and apologize (Nedim) to all.I am learning and ask questions out the lack of knowledge depending on a more seasoned vet to educate me.I just copied those comments from another forum to see what others would say, always interested in much feedback.
Back to the subject, these KB are very much alike but it appears that the marketing people at Korg decided to just take a good KB and change some items and market it with a different name ???for the extra couple of hundred dollars,i just wanted to know what the differences were and if anyone has played both...thanks

I am not saying its not used in studio, i used to use my PA80 in my
studio too...but come on...ahahahahaha.
