How sensitive is your TE touchscreen?

My TE screen has always been a bit slow in reacting to touch. I must admit I didn't quite get the touch thing early on and rubbed the surface off the top right inside corner, trying to pull the menu down

It sometimes takes almost a second to respond when I touch, which means I often push the screen hard and it does slow me down. Entering a filename is more effort than I think it should be.
The V-Synth screen is far more sensitive and now I find the M3 screen is better too. So I'm wondering if my TE has always been imperfect - or is this slow response normal for a TE?
Cheers,
B

if you haven't done so already.
Also, try calibrating it.

Thanks for your replies. I did buy it off the floor, maybe someone else didn't like the response and returned it.
I have flashed the 1.05 OS a few times and calibrated the screen (touching the top a little bit lower so I can easily pull down the menu). But its no different. I've had it for 3 years and its now discontinued so I guess I can continue with it as it is. Slightly annoying more than anything else.
Cheers,
B

The sensitivity of any touch screen used in any possible device depends on the temperature difference between enviroment and your fingertip.
If you tried calibration check also (if possible) the extreme's touch sensitivity in cold and warm enviroment. I am pretty sure that your extreme will respond better in cold in general terms enviroment

maybe you need a new touch screen... dont they sell them as replacement parts? mine is very fast, i've never had a problem selecting things - does it work better when you use the end of a pen or a PDA stylus?

It often is better with a PDA stylus and I am now conscious of trying to release the screen positively (quickly lifting my finger). It is quite good, but still sometimes I touch and it doesn't see it. I am thinking the CPU is just too busy at times to see me press. Whatever it is, it comes and goes...
Cheers and Happy New Year,

btw. Oasys has same velocity curves as TEX (just checked). I am happy that I am a user of TEX, not Oasys.

Just be careful not to go looking at naked keyboard pics on the internet while it's there - the phrase "check out the pair of oscillators on that one!" could have quite an impact
