TR or KARMA?

Hi, everyone!
I've been planning to get a Korg TR61, but recently a synth enthusiast who lives near me wants to let his KARMA go for about 300USD less than what a new TR goes for.
Would this be a good deal?
I've heard that KARMA keys feel better, and it's got 5 insert effects versus ONE on the TR.
However it's like OLD, and utilizes floppy discs instead of USB.
Some say the pianos on the KARMA sound better, though.
Can anyone help me out? THANKS!

Keep in mind that a new TR is alot more expensive than a slightly used one. I got mine for 700USD on eBay and I have seen them as low as 400USD. I know for a fact that you can talk down a guy at Guitar Center to around 900-950USD for a new TR-61 So, if the Karma is still cheaper than that I say go for it.

Oh, cool!
For me, I'm not TOO bothered about the pricing.
It's quite close in my currency, so there's little difference financially.
But, which would be a better keyboard in general?
Is the KARMA outdated?
Is the TR underpowered with only one IFX?
Which keys feel better?
Thanks so much for your help!

I can only speak about the TR as I have no experience with the Karma. The TR-61 has unweighted keys with very average feel. The feel of the keys is the basic, usual easy feeling of any keyboard. There is no weight at all. They feel fairly solid.

I know I'm late, but I'll just throw in my $.03...lol

I own both, and if I had to choose between the 2 I would pick the KARMA hands down :) just tooo many features.

Though for a budget synth and if that was all I could afford then the TR I would get just because compared to other synths the ROM sounds out of the box sound better and you can add sampler expansion. Not to many synths in that price range have a sampler :) And memory storage can go up to 2GB with the SD card :)

Cool. Thanks for your input, man!
HOWEVER, I gave both a miss, and got myself a Motif Classic 6 used by a local pro musician! :-)
VERY HAPPY now, hehehe.
