These are two completely different beasts...
I personally would go with the Triton LE... more Sample ROM, uses smartmedia to save data with, More Programs/Combinations, it's GM compatible, and and twice the polyphony. Triton LE also is somewhat compatible with other Triton class synths, and you'll find you can load in a lot of newer sets of programs, since a lot of people have these.
The down-side to this instrument is that it has no USB connector on it, so unless you have a card-reader on your computer, the only way to save PCG data is by using SysEx. And to save/load sequence data you would have to record multiple channels via MIDI and save them on the card.
The trinity is more than 10 years old, and it has some nice features on it, but it is not at all compatible with the Tritons. It does have a floppy disk drive built into it though which is nice, and some synthesis abilities taken from OASYS. It only has 24MB sample ROM and 32 voices of polyphony, 2 banks of programs/combinations. The Synth sounds on the Trinity have a unique sound to them and you won't find them on the Triton, but a lot of the acoustic sounds are very tinny sounding.
Definitely try both of these instruments out and see what you like.
