well... someone must have played that :>
Or do you think it's sequenced? Might be as well but I still think there are people who can play that stuff

It's a matter of very hard practice!

A fine classical pianist, as I "once" (almost) was, can play like this on some things. When I played "Very small time" concert and college, I played Ravel, Debussy the best, as I preferred them, but I could play most Chopin pretty well. and many others. My best was my senior recital..Never played better, and now I can barely run decent arpeggios...
I would add, I believe this clip may be a little engineered...but it seems O.K., for all that..
Check out several youtube vid. for Jeux d'eau by Ravel..(The Fountian) one of the most difficult known, but not as spectacular to watch pieces..Also check out, by Ravel, that is said by some to be THE most difficult piano piece ever known..: Gaspard De La Nuit..
How do you get to (any concert hall)? Practice.., ditto .., and many more dittos...!!! Young people take notice..Do it while you are YOUNG..as I did..It's worth it!

I have a friend who can play Debbussy and Liszt and has done a few cd's. I just can't imagine practicing that much and achieving such virtuosity. He has devoted most of his life to perfecting certain pieces so when you hear him play them, it seems effortless, yet he has very little confidence and stresses very much before performing.

A suggestion. Should any of you want to see the high point according to some, for absolute virtuosity..On the "Gaspard de la Nuit"...check out the third movement, "Scarbo", the hardest in Gaspard,, and maybe the hardest piano composition of them all....
Gaspard means roughly Guardian of the Treasure..so this translates to "Guardian of the Treasures of the Night"...You can read all this on the site...just DON'T become addicted to the piano...You will never get over it!!
Scarbo as a small monster who can also fly. He is part beetle..and a very terrible elfin form overall...The music shows it perfectly.
Watch the video with the great (!!!) Croatian/Russian pianist, Ivo Pogorelich. (On youtube, of course...)

Listened to Ivo Pogorelich play the Ravel .....
I had to laugh at some of the comments left by youtubers about his technique. Someone said "he was born on the piano" and then the answer came "was he really??!!"
Hi ellll

What's your opinion on his technique? I realise it's not what it looks like that matters......just curious to hear your opinion...

Hi,
His technique is truly great on passages of power, but he is inclined to overplay in quieter times...I sense this (at least to me) in the past when I encountered his playing of several Debussy...and a Mozart prelude set as well...I don't care for his forth and fifth finger positions some of the time..(right..)
However, ANYONE who can play Scarbo, has a great technique for the most part..but if you will note, (and ignore some wrong notes...) Perlemuter is likely superior and we may believe closer to Ravel's intention since he studied with him...he was just too old in the clip on YouTube..
You got your song ready I suspect

See Ya..Johnny..(ellll)
