The worst features of the X50 are as follows...

I will preface this by saying that you get what you pay for. That said, the X50 is a fantastic value, but...
It "plays" better when driven from a better controller. The X50 has velocity issues.
The new OS offers a bank of favorites which is great for a quick bank of easily accessed patches but it doesn't show which favorite NUMBER (within that bank) patch you are playing.
The power plug on the back is begging for trouble as it doesn't fully insert.
There's no aftertouch.
There's no aftertouch.
Thers's no aftertouch.

It sounds like you are saying that Korg should make a RACK version.

But...does it have aftertouch?
I, for one, would like to see a SonicCell-sized version of the Triton with all of the Triton engine multisamples and factory sounds ever devised (including all of the expansions)...plus the real Triton's effects (5 inserts). It would need to have a software editor too. That would be wicked...I'd buy it in about 2 seconds.

Hm, favourites are nice, but for me the biggest drawback of X50 was extreme shortage of free (user) slots for arp patterns, combis and programs. So I dumped it although I loved the way it sounds.

i've said the same thing about the microx. in theory it's awesome, but sitting around starbucks making music went the way of the flying car..

it was mostly a craze to cash in on the cheap laptops that finally started coming out. but agreed, a sonic cell sized device would have been the perfect format.
