The external battery pack for the MR-1 recorder is available for those who purchased the product after January 1, 2008 (by coupon from Korg while supplies last).
When I checked on 02/08, it was offered for sale on one retailer's web site for $15.00. I haven't checked on any other retailer's web sites as yet.
