Hello. First time this forum, yesterday picked up new TR 61. I am guitar player with some keyboard background. At this time I'm just playing around with the TR, going through the manual, etc. My first question is: in the sequencing template mode, after I have picked a type, say Latin or whatever, and I go through the tracks, and say keyboard is track 3, it comes up with a certain instrument (say grand piano). How can I change to another sound for this "keyboard" (or whatever) track. If I wanted to go to a B3 sound instead of piano, for example. I can't seem to find out if this is possible through the manual. I must be missing something. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

In sequencer mode, press F2 to get to the programs page.
Then hold TIMBRE/TRACK and press the number of the track using the 'F' buttons. (for exmple, press TIMBRE/TRACK + F3 to select track 3)
Then you can choose a program to play with by pressing CATEGORY (or just enter the number, whatever)

Hi
Another newbie question, this time about LE
In sequencer mode, when I select a tone from programs to a track, it does not come up withe default effects and the tone sounds really plan.
please could some one tell me how to copy the default effects in program mode to sequencer mode ?.
I did see an option to copy combination tone and use the default effects.
Cheers

you might start with quick setup recording feature
in prog mode select the program you want to use
then press "enter" and "record" together
this will set up a new song with the selected program as the first track and all the parameters copied from that program
this works with combis too
I'm not sure if that's what you need. Notice that you can't have multiple programs with all their effects in seq, 'cause there's only 3 FX for them all that need to be shared.

Hi, Thanks for your quick reply!
I'm afraid it didnt work. when i try doing "enter" and "record" together in program mode, it came up with this message (
http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/1638/dsc00101hv6.jpg ) and when I do ok, looks like it writes the modified program (if we have modified anything) to internal memory.
Please refer to this video (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dOrHeIUe4o8 )- time (5:50-6:17) I tried this way too, but not happy with the effects its providing in sequencer mode. its no-way near the effects of program mode.
In sequencer mode, when I do “utility” --> "Copy From Combi" it gives an option to copy the effects as well. I get the same effects for the tone from combi mode in sequencer mode. I want the same facility in for program to use effects in sequencer mode.
I hope i made it clear now.
Cheers

this happens when you only press record.
try holding enter and pressing record while holding it
you should get a "Set up for recording?" dialog.

Hi Please find my sequence of operations in this youtube link (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4f-m_bhBXo ) sorry for the poor video quality
It didn't work I'm afraid, I have tried
* Holding “enter” and then “record” came up with update message
* Holding “hold” and then “record” came up with update message
* Holding “hold” and “enter” together and then “Record” even then the same update message.
as well as when I press "record" alone
Is there something wrong with my keyboard configuration ? I am prepared to load the pre-loaded data as well if that helps
Cheers

Just press press [enter], and while holding down the [enter] button, press the [record] button...
[enter] + [record]
No [hold] button is needed to perform this action!

Then I can't help you... I don't know why, but when I do this, it sets up the synth for recording with that program...
Sorry, I have no idea...

I'm using an LE and it works here. The video looks like you're doing it right, but you still get the wrong message. No idea why.
Does your enter button work properly?
