ive been watching some videos of this machine on youtube and it looks really nice. i just have 2 questions about this machine.

what are the drums sounds like?
and is a smart media card essential for saving patterns and stuff or is the internal memory sufficient?

on the EMX drum sounds suck but they're workable with some tweaking...

on the ESX it's a sampler so it's your own sounds...

smart media is not required to store patterns nor samples... it is used to transfer sampes and memory dumps(for editing) to and from pc

thats kind of disappointing that the drum sounds aren't the best.

thats kind of confusing. can more samples be sent to the EMX from the PC? i was under the impression that the EMX was a synth with an engine not a machine with standard editable sounds. or are you talking about the ESX there?

nonono the emx(the blue electribe) has pcm sounds which can not be changed.....

the esx(red one) is a sampler based workstation... you you CAN edit them.

I was tallking about both machines....

anyways the emx drums are ok and not too bad when you work on them. But I'll tell you the more unconventionally you use them (pitching way down or way up, modulating and so fourth) the better they sound. So overall they're not bad at all and some are very useful.
