Jeez Daz - a person has to get up pretty early in the morning to stay ahead of you!!
As promised, we're pleased to release a lot of new sonic firepower for your M3.
The 512 new Programs can be found here:
http://www.korg.com/service/downloadinfo.asp?DID=1383
Note: They are released as an OS upgrade so they can always be restored using the Global Mode command. Plus there are a few small bug fixes.
The new Bank of RADIAS-infused Combis can be found here:
http://www.korg.com/service/downloadinfo.asp?DID=1384
We really want to hear from you - let us know how you like the sounds. There's a lot to cover so we should be having dialog about this for some time to come.
Enjoy!!
Regards,
Jerry and everyone at Korg

I have made the upgrade of the OS from 1.0.4 to 1.2.0 and I simply cannot load/restore the new sound from the global menu. Whatever I try, it simply refuses to write the new sounds into the userbanks. Now I have looked into the single program list in the global menu and in the slots where I expect the new program names it is written "invalid data".
Should I try the update again?
Edit:
I did the update again and now everything seems ok!

Thanks for the new sounds. Looks like there is enough to keep us all busy for awhile. The new Radias Combis are a nice bonus.
I noticed in addition to the 512 new programs that get loaded via the global mode there are a couple of PCG's included with the system update.
1- PRODUC88.PCG
2- PRODUCER.PCG
As far as I can see both of these Producer PCG's contain the same data. Am I missing something here?
I originally thought that this was new material, but it looks like it's just that the programs have been rearranged. When you load in the data via the global mode the new sounds get put in the User banks, but when you load in the sounds via the Producers PCG's, the new data gets loaded into the Internal banks and in the User banks you get the original factory programs, only they are organized together in categories thereby giving you a choice on how you want to arrange things. Nice touch Korg!
In any case, I'm sure many of you have already written new programs into the User Banks in which the new Korg factory sounds will live and if you want to use your custom sounds together with the new factory sounds, then you can either load in the new factory sounds somewhere else or you can to do a bit of re-arranging. I've been meaning to put together a tutorial on how to move soundbanks around so the new release has given me an excuse to do that. You can find it at;

If you need any more info just let me know.

Major props to Jerry and the voicing team at KORG! What a wealth of new and exciting sounds!
I was actually late for work today because I was glued to my board browsing through the new sounds. I had to tell my fellow co-workers I was 'stuck in traffic!'
If you haven't already, download these new sounds now! I'm gonna check out the new sounds for the EXB-Radias when I get home.
I'll be up till the wee hours of morning.
Thanks again KORG! Thanks for listening to our requests. You've just made all of us M3 owners happy!
Will be back with feedback.
First of all, thanks to the programmers!jerrythek wrote:We really want to hear from you - let us know how you like the sounds.
Just going through the sounds for the first time, I'm really pleased with the new collection of vintage synth sounds, leads, pads, etc. Just what I've been looking for. Top notch.
M3, Triton Classic, Radias, Motif XS, Alesis Ion
I too had to load twice to get the new sounds in. And man was it worth it! I wonder how many man hours it took to create all those sounds! And to offer them at no charge - Way Cool
It will take some time to explore all of them, but I did fin that the organ sounds rock!!!
Muchas Gracias!!

I just read your tutorial and I'm not sure I grasp the "Change All Bank References" thingy. Does this function change all the combis refering to a I-E bank to refer to U-E instead? So this could be applied in any bank and it would only affect the sounds that actually refer to whatever I choose?kid_nepro_2002 wrote:I've been meaning to put together a tutorial on how to move soundbanks around so the new release has given me an excuse to do that. Example: I have now moved all my User programs from Bank U-B to U-E and want to make sure that all the combinations still refer to the correct sounds. So I go to global mode, choose "Change All Bank References" Highlight the "combination" box
Change UB > UB to UB > UE - Leave everything else the same - Choose OK.
