I have an urgent need to learn how to extract a single style from a set and save it so I can create a 2nd set from those I save for example to my FD. (PA1X Keyboard)
I know how to load just the single style but I want to create special sets from the individual styles I find.
I am willing to read and do the work but I can't find anything anywhere that teaches someone how to do this. I know it must be possible - maybe some PC software if not on the keyboard

It is one of the most covered Topics on here, i've written whole VOLUMES
on that, Sharp did, Rob did and many others...every fourth or fifth topic
lately is pretty much that question. Whatever you find in the PA800 area
the same goes for PA1X.

Hi hammer
did you get the XRM software working?
That software will allow you to manage all your styles and create sets on a floppy for either loading to the user banks or creating a DIRECTFD set.
Do you have a hard disk installed in your PA1X?
Regards
Mick

Hi Mick,
No, I was never able to get it working. I downloaded it and everything seemed fine but it would not load files when I tried to use it. I am running XP and usually get around a computer fairly well - but have had no luck with the program so far. I can download it again and see.

Hi Hammer
don't worry about XRM for the moment, I will try and explain the step by step procedure for loading individual styles into the user banks for you
1) put floppy containing the set file into the drive
2) press DISK button and then load
3) select the set file on the screen and press OPEN (not load)
4) select the STYLES folder and press OPEN (not load)
5) you will then have a list of the styles contained in the folder
6) select the individual style you want to load and press LOAD
7) this next screen will allow you to choose the slot in the user bank you want to load the style into
repeat steps 6) and 7) until you are happy with the styles you have loaded and then press EXIT and then enjoy your customised USER 1, USER 2 and USER 3 banks
Hope this helps

hi hammer
yes they can you can even load direct to the DirectHD banks if you want, just select that as the slot you want to load into instead of the user banks.
or for example you can copy the user set into one of the DirectHD banks ( Listed as !123.set,!456.set and !789.set) on the hard drive using usb if you want

Mick,
It has been a week since I tried - I wll give it another try and let you know where i am getttin stuck.
Meanwhile, I am going to try to save the sets I put together on the HD as you described. That would really be awesome if I can make it work. I like to setup my gig sets well in advance and that is what I am trying to do.

Hi hammer
no problem take your time
The easiest way to place the styles on your HD is as you are loading the individual styles, choose the slot in your DirectHD bank as its location
