burning cds with d1600 mk2 - burning as one long song

I am attempting to burn an album onto cd. I read somewhere that if I wishe to insert song starting points into a song, that I should save those spots as "new Marks" and when the cd burns, it will create a new song at that point. Right now the whole thing is ignoring my marks and is burning as one long song. I cannot find any mention of this in the manual or in the forums. Any help is appreciated.
