Upcoming piece

Post by jazlover »

It has been so quiet lately... so I am leaving this teaser.

Enclosed below is a description of the song (Twilight Passage) I am working on. I wrote this to go with the finished music. But you will have to wait. I did some editing today (what a pain) and I made some final decisions on how I am going to do finish it. I have tomorrow afternoon and Monday night to do solos, final editing and mixing. It is nothing wowing but I had fun with it. I will try to get it in before 11;00 PM on Monday. See you there. I hope all are making progress. I can't wait to hear what you are doing.

Twilight Passage……………….originated from a surprise visit from my brother.

One night my brother from New York shows up at my house in Florida. He informs me that “he is watching my kids” and “here are the keys”. Outside beneath the beautiful starry sky is a rented convertible. As old as I am, I have never savored a convertible on such an enchanting night. As the moonlight slips between the tree branches it embraces Anna’s wind blown hair. I wanted to take every road that was untraveled by others. I wrote most of this song that week but never finished it till now. This song is an attempt to retell the voyage with my beloved, beneath a canopy of celestial wonderment. With futility, I tried to capture some of the awe from that night and the groove of the road. I hope you get a shadow and glimpse of that memory. Enjoy!

You've painted a great picture in words, what an inspirational experience that must have been.

Could be a few of us working right to the end of the month this time.

What a nice story, and food for a musical piece for sure.
I'm anxious to hear this.

jazlover, you are nothing if not dramatic and what a tease, i never thought of this, describing and creating a mood then making your audience wait for the other shoe to drop, now with all this hype we're expecting a windfall 8-[

Let's hope so! But I still think we can give half credit for this even if he is a day late.

Wow, I love this anecdote that you've shared ... your brother's kindness and spontaneity, your own ability to appreciate that and make the most of it and the sharing of both with your wife ... not to mention the simple pleasures of nature's wonder and man's too (you can't beat a good car on the empty road).

I truly look forward to hearing your musical rendition of this and will enjoy it all the more for knowing the motivation/inspiration behind it.

Daz.

I can't convert file to MP3....till trying. Computer problems.

What a wild night....I will comment tomorrow. I lost the last half of the song today so I had to do quick surgery.
