Salaam Everyone,
I am so fortunate to have found my Afghan musicians on this forum.
First of all, a big Salaam to Qader Jan who I have the utmost respect for. I have bought many of his albums and have enjoyed them over the decade. Second a big salaam to the rest of my brothers who I don't know but could all be just as famous and informative as Qader Jan.
So what brought me to this forum? Well, I was doing a little research as to what keyboard and I thought I had nailed it down to PA2X Pro but after reading some of Qader Jan's comments on why he disliked the board it made me rethink of my choice. So here I am all confused all over again. Thanks to you Qader Jan
The board will not be used for live performances as I am not an entertainer. Music is mostly an expensive hobby for me as it will most likely remain that way lol.
My current set up is as follows:
I have decent DAW setup with RME Fireface800 at home. Mostly Cubase/Nuendo user although I use ProTools once in a while at friends studio.
Being friend of a studio owner I have more samples then you can imagine (about 500 CD's and DVD's) So I really would like to use some of these great ethnic samples at my disposal. I also have almost every single VSTi on the market except for a few latest ones. So as far as sounds are concerned I have no need for them. What I am interested in is full capability of arrangements as well as multi-timbral parts for sequencing.
I love designing my own sounds rather than using over used patches on every CD I hear. I think one of the reasons why Qader Jan is good at what he does is because of his passion and understanding of sound/sounds. I am the same way as I get bored of same sound very fast.
So question I have. Putting $ aside as it is not an issue, why PA800 vs. Pa2X Pro? Keep in mind I have never owned an arranger and learning curve might be an issue but I’m decent learner. But still have to say that I have never owned an arranger before.
My studio right is nothing but midi controllers. So again I’m open to other options if Pa800 or Pa2X Pro is not the right choice. Well I'll be waiting for replies as I am almost set to go on the Pa2X Pro.
The mods on this forum may wonder why we are always asking for afghan forums. It’s not because want to disengage out selves from the rest of the world lol. We merely don’t have enough professional musicians out there who are tech smart, or should I say tech-savvy. One of the main reasons why I even signed up on this forum was because of Qader Jan who we know can teach us a thing or two about this topic. So yes we are not some weird cult who wants our own forums all the time lol.
In hopes of mods not rolling their eyes at yet another Afghan asking for yet another Afghan music forum, does anyone else know of any other great afghan music forums?
Guys, it’s a pleasure to be part of this great forum. Hope I can contribute as much as I will learn from you guys, especially on these keyboards if I purchase one.
In responce to Ahmadi's post:
After reading the forum for few hours I have found most Afghan brothers here helping each other out. I don't know why you had such bad expirence. I have read posts by Qader Jan as well as other Afghans sharing their styles, loops with out any hesitation. I think we need to be more positive on the fact that Afghans do support each other. Its self fullfiling prophecy! The more you believe, the easier it will get for you. At least that has been my life expierence. So again I am sorry Ahamdi Jan but I saw quite contrary to what you believe.
Okay I have to go practice my voice now! "Anar Gul dana dana dana dana dana"

P.S.
I love to share with you guys 3 years of Indian vocal lessons along with notation and audios. I just have to put it all together. Feel free to contact me if you are interested. What I have, is priceless and I know almost every single afghan will want this. Just give me some time to get it all together.
