EDIT-

This is what I said "You may be late but you never fail to disappoint." Damn I am tired! I mixed too much music in the last 24 hours!!!

What I wanted to say was "You may be late but you never disappoint us!"
-------------------------End edit (thanks for bailing me out Daz)

On to the good stuff...

This is another example of your free style which I envy so much. Guys like you and ellll always seem to take me there by thinking way beyond the box and delivering these deep pieces!

I like the multiple use of voices, although I feel that in a few spots it robbed the mood a bit...only in that it over took your lead which in turn got lost.

I love the sparse piano and the subtones.

Glad you got the song in.

Jon

Hi Tom,

I am...again so happy...and sad...You NEVER fail in your talent...and it makes me happy...

This effect is VERY rich..yet simple and a genuine creation of depth!!...Thank You from me..and others....

The instrumentation is sparse....and clean..I need to take it as example..I admit!!

The echo-vox effect is SOOOOO good here..I do love it...As mentioned by Jon (who seldom misses a balance point...) the vox secondo...could have been lighter..and faded a bit sooner...but thats the ONLY thing I se.. and I wouldn't have seen that alone...This again shows your art..!! Nothing more to say...except...I will be listening a LOT...

My Best Regards!! John (ellll) :D

It's like Nick Drake writing for a latter day Johnny Cash ... okay, maybe not exactly ;-) But in my mind the rich poetic lyrics and earthy vox, summon up those greats for me. Very much enjoyed here, excepting the slight over prominence of the "echoed" vocal in parts, as the other chaps mentioned.

O.K....

Change on this...

I understand better now, and the balance of the two voices has to be as you have done it...as not an echo...but a growing "replacement"...and a final realization of the change itself....!!! ..Finally of a new voice that is a reflection of the old...when the change occurs...

Brilliant, is all I can say...P.S. Is this "death"??

(But I know you seldom answer such a question..)

Fashionably late there Tom :)

I've been listening to this on and off all day, as I do.
This is one of your most minimalist songs yet, but again so charged.
The background vocals (a first?), work well - subdued and back in the mix
I'm not sure about the end vocals, there's a lot going on for a little while, but then the slow lead out takes us back again, perfect.
You've even included what sound like single notes, how is this possible...

Every chord, every line hangs like nothing else.

Thanks for all your listens' and comments. Jon I would like to lower the second voice and unmuddle the ending. It will not be until the 17th before
I can get back on the KF ftp server or any music server. Your harmonies are spectacular.
I wish I could get my voice up there as well.
Death John  I like to think it's about how precious life is.

You "voices" really shine here, more i think than ever. Each word and counter echo carefully placed and filled with poetry and emotion. As was said for my works earlier, while staying within a genre you have shown amazing versatility and the full range that can be done in a style such as this. I appreciate the care this took to compose and execute. I would like the piano to be just a tad softer or just to the side a bit somehow so that each word would be crystal clear. As is stands though I just love it. My mind goes to many levels where the meanings lie behind these words. I would enjoy your posting the lyrics as they are worth savoring as a great poem. So glad you managed to finish this. I hope you are able to continue throughout this year and top this even, though that is extremely hard to imagine.

Wow, Tom! You are blazing your own unique paths. The power of your story telling is foremost and the music just open the lisener to the emotions within. This also makes me want to use the power of words effectively. I have a hard time leaving these piece uneffected.

Hi Tom - that was cool voice echo effect ! I really liked your keys sound. That was extremely cleaver singing - changing your intensity subtly - especially around 1:32 being the peak and then gradually tapering off and then the echo switch. 8)

One More Time,

I listen to this great piece of work...and it just gets better...but more sad as well...as I worry about those who are having a problem...and I fear very much....and say a prayer..

Always such will be the effect of your brilliant music...!!..To move others..

John.....
