...I can't tell by looking at photos.
I've downloaded the manual, but no joy there either.
...seems a bit of wasted space if using on a desktop to have the rack ears sticking out....

Nope, the ears are part of the front panel.

I ended up racking mine but I had toyed with the idea of making some wooden endpieces for it. Using it on a tabletop, it wasn't angled up enough to be usable (for me anyway).

Thanks for the quick reply...Thought I hadn't seen it anywhere without 'em!
