Midi book/help

I'm looking for a good resource to get me up to speed on all things having to do with Midi instruments and software. I don't even know or understand the jargon.

I have an ancient Midi book or two, but these were really poorly written and left me none the wiser. Ditto for the Korg manuals.

Is there something like a Midi for Dummies book?

I'm working my way through the first and 3rd link. The 2nd link is a list of resources that will take me the rest of my life to get thru.

Any other resources? Books? Videos?

Hi!

Daz provided you some great links.
IMHO, instead of keep on searching other stuff to get started with, I would try to follow these link and the instruction/tips you can find inside...the best way to learn is to try and to do wrong things: you always learn from your errors.

From the "collaborative" side, you can try to do something and if you can't achieve the result you've got in your mind, you can write here what you did, what you wanted to do, and we can help you find the right way...
