Post by Ultimate Dj »

After Sharp kindly posted that amazing flute I thought we might as well start requesting what instruments we want! :D With all the free time I know Sharp has, it give him the inspiration that he needs!

Seriously though, just a list of what we would lyk to have!

for me its either a
Timbaland type drum kit seen here;

or this Arabic instrument seen here at 1:30

I'm actually stealing this idea from someone else's post(s):

-Vocoder EXi (Dedicated)

-Drums EXs (With up to date Urban, Hip-hop, r&b,House, techno, country, jazz, rock and roll)

-Rhodes EXi (Since we already have the piano expansion, Why not?)

-Bass EXi or EXs (In the case of the EXi maybe Korg can come up with some type of bass oscilator or algorhythm or something. In the case of the EXs(it could contain up to date sine, tubed, acoustic, electric, orchestral, and synth basses.)

-Strings EXs (Like those wonderful KARO sounds)

-Choir, Vocal EXi and or EXs (Some REAL Choir singing samples)

A unified Grungifier IFX, modeled after Reason's Scream 4. I think this would go a long to towards satisfying those people who say all the engines have the same character. One or more of the elements of Scream are probably in the IFX list already, but not bundled together and as tweakable as the way Scream is laid out. I especially like the concept of simple knobs and sliders.

"Imagine having all your favourite distortion pedals and overdrive boxes transformed into one shiny, rackmounted Reason device.

Add a touch of speaker modeling and a rough sounding EQ section and you have Scream 4, the ultimate sound destruction unit. With a wide variety of built-in damage methods, Scream 4 is capable of mangling audio in more ways than one. Use it for digital bit crushing, or regular crushing, or just for adding analog warmth and body to your sounds.

If you're into creative distortion, this unit is your friend to the end."

Triton EXI with all the Wave ROM from the Extreme and expansion ROMs.

And of course more banks or ditch the RAM based program banks and read directly from disk. In ten years time the OASYS will have more than 20,000 usable programs. We could also use a tagging system to classify sounds beyond two levels of characteristics. How do we manage it all?

This is true there are a lot of samples available to the Oasys that can be modified into countless programs try to imagine a number as small as 100 samples. To calculate the number of possible programs do 100i(factoral).

Any chance you'd be willing to just post the samples and lets us put together the programs? For me Samples are just as good as PCGs...almost! :D
