Error message when loading samples

Hey all-

After years of being a pretty much 100% acoustic drummer, I eventually picked up an electronic kit (awesome for practicing in the apartment) and I have now purchased a KP3 to run it through. So, having said that, please understand that I have virtually no experience with electronic music/devices....but I AM a manual reader, so I come to you all as a last resort.

I picked up an SD card today and loaded about 30-40 samples and loops onto it--mostly things I found online. Most of them work fine, but it seems like about 5-10% give me an ERROR message when I try to load them. Has anyone else had this problem? Am I doing something wrong, or are the wav files defective and/or unreadable in some way?

I have already tried to re-connect the KP3 to the computer and trash the unreadable files, then re-import them, but they don't work the second (or third) time around, either.

Any help is appreciated.

Andy

The samples are probably the wrong format, i.e. 24bit etc

What is the right format?

16 bit

just use the kp3 editor program and you dont have to worry about that

also, they COULD be too long (IIRC 16 beats at 70 BPM is max lenght)
