This is a thread for all Zero 8 owners. As you may or may not know. On the zero 8, in midi mode you cannot cue through the headphone bus. You have to loose a chanel to root the midi signal cue through and the master through. This leads to many problems.......

- Loose one chanel
- Master through seperate chanel so all effects from zero 8 are in turn on the master
- In non soundcard mode all effects are unusable as no output through mixer

To everyone who has bought this product, if you feel the same as me, please just write your name and comments on this post.

To be fair, everyone at Korg UK HQ has been really helpfull and I thank them for their patience and time they have spent looking into this for me. BUT this product promised the world and never delivered.

I honestly feel like I have been robbed. After weeks of saving to buy this product I feel like I might as well have not bothered.

SOOO what I am trying to do is get everyone who ownes one to write their name and brief message on this wall so I can get a feel for how many people own this piece of junk and then I am putting together a document that will hopefully remedy all our problems.

PFL/CUE and MASTER BUS should be avaibale in soundcard IO

forgot to say....... krog said that this is the only way to cue but didnt mention that it was a design fault. Why dont they just hold their hands up and say 'we forgot to make the headphone and master cue bus midi assignable'?

This machine has one major breakdown. The generalagent for korg in sweden aint helpful.
How can the zero fx send stop to function?

Hi Ryan

As I said over the phone to you. This product may not be the perfect product for every user in every situation. The mixer can be used in several ways and sometimes with equipment you have to use a work around to get it to do what you need, that is the simple fact of it.
I'm not sure how long you have been using musical equipment or to what extent your live and recording experience extends to but i'm sure that if you dont have much experience in this field then you will come across times in your career that you have to use work arounds with gear....

I'll keep an eye on this post and see what reaction you get to your comments

wahou!! answer from korg support!!! unbelievable!!!

...it's a good opportunity to ask why we can't create presets to save some fx settings for each channel, or fx send, or master fx... like a layout mode...

Maybe you will talk about our experience or advise us to use a work around...
Is it so hard to update the zero8??

If I was a developer i would be able to impliment some ideas for you guys. Sadly I'm not. I just advise people how to use the products.

I stay absolutly happy with KORG ZERO 8.......but some words to KORG TEAM

In first place i want just comment KORG should change the way how support users, i cant understand why companys some times act in strange and misterious ways.........

Why not learn the exelent lesson from Ableton?
That germany company offer absolutly wonderfull support from e-mail, phone, and specially in the forum.
Is very normal see posts from one of the creators of Ableton Mr Henke, talking with user about troubles, sugestions, etc etc etc.
They always have people reading the forums, and commenting, supporting, and sending information to users.........

Why not learn that good things of they?

Korg ZERO 8 is the best mixer i use in my life, absolutly better mixer compared with xone 3d...... i work like dj in the last 20 years, i use absolutly all TOP line mixers from companys like Allen & Heat, Vestax, Ecler, Pioneer, etc etc.
Time ago i create my own controller for Ableton based on touch screen, so i have expereicne in software developping , visit the site if want: WWW.MONOTOUCHLIVE.COM
Before buy korg zero i buyed 1 ELECTRIBE MX, 1 SX, 1 MICROKORG, 1 RADIAS........
I comennt all this just for show i have some expereicne like dj, producer developer etc etc...........my head no have sapace for understand why KORG ACT IN THIS WAY WITH THIS PRODUCT.


I have experience with some korg products and allways i think the products are really good, but with zero something happen (not to me)..............and cant understand why KORG delay all this long time to react !!

I not understand why korg loose lot of new future customers interested in ZERO MIXERS........acting like ghost, that is the feeling after months with no answers to user with troubles ON THIS FORUMS, i cant understand why not answers to new GREAT and usefull features request, etc etc.
This is the first time i see somebody form korg on this forum and this is wonderfull.

I cant undertand why some simple features like GAIN for headphone output not released yet, and why some troubles can be fixed by software take long time to fix.
Why exelent features sugestion just aparently ignored..........?

We have combination of exelent product with poor support and slow updates.

The unit i have is the only one unit in all my country, all famous Djs of my country askme the same...........hey but somebody tellme the mixer have big troubles, hiss, etc etc.........KORG PEOPLE.........not late yet for change this bad image and for convert all this unhappy user....


JUST DO IT ! work a little more on this product !!

I do this also... So does Jerry K and Dan in the USA. Were on the forum every day.

Were not obliged to help on this forum as Korg employees... it's not part of our job... we do it because we like to help.... this is not an official place for Korg to help people... it's for you guys to suggest solutions and to help each other use the products.... We do take note of improvements and updates and we have many products that we improve on all the time with software and hardware upgrades..... it takes time to develop some upgrades...

I have no quarms with either you or Molly, I found you to be very helpfull whislt you were dealing with my query and I thank you, but these issues with this mixer ARE design faults OR it is false advertising.

Maybe some suggested advertising slogons for KORG: The new korg zero 8 (£1,100):'not the perfect product for every user in every situation'[/size]

Im sure when I was looking to buy this product that none of what you have just said was on any of KORGs advertising and I think that if anyone who is looking to buy this product read what you have just written they would definately think twice about doing so. Im sure KORG specifies this product as an all singing all dancing mixer thats the best thing since house music was created, or somthing along those lines. The fact is ITS NOT.

I know that if you work for a company that you like and become passionate about it is hard to admit weaknesses and faults. Mike Im sure if you were in all our shoes, sitting on the other side of the fence that you would probibilly be writing this email yourself. To say This product may not be the perfect product for every user in every situation is acknowledgement to me that KORG didnt do this properly.

My post was started to give potential KORG buyers the facts. Make informed decisions, listen to the people who have used it and learn from their mistakes. My mistake has cost me time and money. If this post helps anyone in anyway when purchasing this or any of KORGS products it has served its purpose. Maybe when KORG release thier next mixer they may consider looking at this post, but rest assured, they wont be getting another penny off of me.

Mike, I dont want you to think that this 'rant' was aimed at any of you in the UK team, you were very helpfull and patient with me baring in mind I was always angry when I picked up the phone to you.

I have been playing the piano from the age of 7, from which I have had my own keyboard and have been playing ever since then. I also play the guitar. I have been djing from the age of 16 (10 years now) and i have been producing for the last 4 years.
My current appliences consist of :

1 x korg zero 8 (unfortunately)

2 x pioneer cdj100 mk2
1 x pioneer cdj1000 mk3
2 x technics 1210 turntables.
1 x Apple macbookpro
1 x apple 24" imac
1 x UCE33 midi controller
1 x KORG r3 synthesiser
1 x ableton live 7 (previous 5 & 6)
1 x logic pro 8 studio
3 x mackiec C200 speakers
1 x senheiser hd25

I currently have 4 residencies for djng around Europe and have also engineered records available for purchase on digital releases and pressed vinyl.

I have spent every penny available to me on something to do with music. over the last god knows how many years the only product i have taken back is a pair of pioneer headphones. I have never b4 used a work around and have never come across this situation before.

I think your comments are valid, maybe I was due to have somthing go wrong with my set up and thank you for being the company that did just that. Good work!

yeah anybody that knows just a little bit about djing and computer audio software would know a absolutely needed fearure is the PFL/CUE and MASTER in the input, and as well in the OUTPUTS of the soundcard, Its stupid to mix your 8 tracks and not beinng able to process the Master section. I want limiting, mastering. Limiting is a basis for live playing, and the cheap included numeric limiter doesn't do the job according to me.

So I m not david ghetta too, but Ive been playing live in rave/ teknival/ underground parties for 7 years. I had various korg products as electribes and the microkontrol and Im so frustrated this product is nearly perfect, but it
seems for me ingeneer didn't really spoke with real "numeric" DJ.....
especially with those that are ableton live users.

any chance to get this routing issue corrected?

anyway absolutely needed is a bit more presence from korg people on this forum and I think that every people here will agree.

just says us "Yes" this will be added or "NO" we won't do that so we don't wait as bastard for months in front of ghosts!!

the routing issue will not be fixed, they say that the workaround is the 'correct' way to monitor using 8 channels, sorry 7 channels.
