New and clueless...just need some direction...(EMX-1 memory)

Post by chethedog »

Hey there,

I've had my emx-1 for a little while. I bought it 2nd hand.
What kind of memory card should i be buying for it?
I'm not in the position to take it down to my local electronics store to check the 2001 options.

If you know, could you please tell me some brandnames and product info...as i've saved a lot of my own stuff...and im filling up the memory banks a little too much. Id like to wipe it all and go to factory settings...

if i just knew what memory card to go and buy!

any help is much appreciated.

I did hear once a whileback that the company who made the original card for this type of memory slot stopped manufacturing it. Hopefully another company has taken up the slack to produce a similar equivalent. Tell me so.............please :)

Take care,
Age.

A full memory back up of the EMX is about 1.7MB, so pretty much any size SD card will work. As for brands, it's usually best to stick with one of the larger electronics brands in my experience. I've had good and bad luck with with cheap no name cards, btu always good luck with reputable brands like Samsung, Fuji, etc.

I just browsed Amazon and was able to find a 64MB card for only $15, so not too expensive.

It uses SmartMedia. Maximum card size is 128 MB, though 128MB cards aren't compatible with every device, though I believe it is OK with the electribes.

The other option is to get a SmartMedia - xD card adaptor. xD cards are easier to find, but you are still limited to 128 MB
