Making a 'beat' with the microKorg

Post by jscroggs81 »

I came across this video on youtube entitled Making a 'beat' with the microKorg.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5yV8hn7_rNY

The description that flashes across the screen is helpful but I really need some more detail on how I can make this happen with my own equipment. I'm using the microkorg, FL studio 6 with an Edirol UM-3EX usb interface. Pro Tools 6.1 w/ digi001 is also running on my PC. He states in the video that he uses Edison to record the audio and that seems to be the only component im missing. If anyone can walk me through this process it would be much appreciated.

You've been duped! This isn't in realtime! He's sequenced it all beforehand.. so while I can't tell you how to do it.. I CAN tell you that it sounds like all microkorg (as the Novation ReMote next to it is off).

Really it's not a very good beat at all though. The guy sounds like an amateur.

I'm sure you can do better (I hope)!

this kind of thing could be done with a looping pedal... allthough this is done using a similar technique on the computer by the looks of it....

either way, its just basic computer audio sequencing. not really specific to the microkorg

i dont think that beat is made with the microkorg

i think he's grabbed a drum loop
and is just jamming along and adding layers with microkorg presets
tho the title of the video is misleading.
