send midi clock from microX to MPC1000 please help

hit there i need to send midi clock from my microX to mpc1000 so it can sync to my daw, the microX is connected via usb and is working fine reciving midi clock from the computer, i have my mpc1000 plugged into the midiout of the microX, the keys on the microX trigger the sounds on the mpc but mpc doesnt show it is running from EXT sync, seems im not doing something quite right, please help
