Loading PCG files.

Post by Mivy »

I hope someone can help me out. I reset my Korg TR61 to factory settings and lost all the combi's i made and some of the program sounds like "JUMP" from the download section here.

I go to MEDIA and find the "jump.pcg
I hit the "open" button till it says "program" and I download to Bank A, but when I open Bank A in Program mode it all sounds like piano.

I had no problem loading this file the first time around. Why can't I make it work this time? Anybody have an idea of what i'm doing wrong?

I would really be happy to have the "JUMP" program back on my TR.

Thanks everyone... :)

IN MEDIA MODE PRESS"OPEN", Get down to each individual sound and open 1 by 1. Once you've done that save a new pcg file. Back up on several places on your computer, (just incase a file get corrupted), like that one has.

Thing is, when opening the JUMP.PCG you need to press 'Open' until you see a list of Prgs inside the PCG (=when you cannot press Open anymore), and then scroll down to 128 - that's the only sound-program in this PCG. So in this case you need to load only one program to a slot you pick, not the whole bank.

I'm sorry lazer.
I meant thanks to both of you for your quick reply. I took your advice and backed up my files to my computor. I appreciate your advice!
Tiayviel hit it right on the head though! I wasn't scrolling to the last program (#128)
I knew the file wasn't corrupted because I just downloaded it from the download section, unzipped, and had it on SD card.
What i love about this site is how you can always find a little help here!
And every bit of advice you guys give is priceless to those of us still struggling to learn.
Hell, one day I may be able to help someone here and be a hero too!
