So... Pa588 at NAMM

Post by Mac Rokorgue »

Hi there;

At the summer NAMM show, Korg showed the new Pa588.
I think many of you heard about it from the Frankfurt Show.

Anyway, this instrument is designed to offer the Pa Style Engine to the pianist/entertainer who really demands an 88-key Piano action.

So the keyboard (RH3 Graded Hammer Action), the stand, and the half-damping pedal are all borrowed form the SP-250 piano.

The Piano sound itself is taken from the Korg C-720 Concert Piano (Home Cabinet Style); 4-sample layers deep plus additional samples for hammer letoff/return, damper pedal, resonance, etc.

And the Pa part is the Pa500 engine.

In stores by August.

It was fun to play - I didn't even think "PA" - I just turned played piano the way I normally would and let the Pa Style Engine follow me around for a while. Nice!
