HI-
I have a PA800, and do not have the M3, but can you please give me an answer about the -VOCODER effect on the M3-
I just want to know please-
If there is ability to record
a midi with the VOCODER effect, and
save it like midi! [not audio]
[I have a reason to understand that can be the ability for that…].
OR the VOCODER that based on the audio input, just can give the "model" to the sound as an audio, and you
can not save the "model" that you was playing like a data and effects or controls of a midi,
And with other words, we can say that it is equal to the TC-HELICON on the PA'S that is an audio sound that can not be recorded
to a midi [for sure…].
[I know the different between harmonizer and VOCODER… I'm speaking here about the equal that it is audio effect not midi effect.]
please can someone clarify it?

I too would like the answer. I have the m3, but am just now learning it, so have not tried the vocoder yet. I know on the triton, I would record my voice then pump the sample thru the vocoder, so it was stored as recorded audio then pumped thru the vocoder.

HI georgeinar
Thank you for replaying.
As I have understand from your answer-
"…so it was stored as recorded audio then pumped thru the vocoder."…
At least about the triton, we can know, that there- it is saving like audio and not midi,
Am I right?
[sorry for replaying only now, I wasn't here a few day's].

This is complicated. The Vocoder on the PA is not a full featured Vocoder it
is just an Effect and it doesnt perform the same way Real Vocoders do.
I havent played with the Vocoder Effect on the PA, i dont know how it works,
i dont know where it gets its audio from, can you actually apply it to the Mic
input??? If not then forget it, its useless its not even a Vocoder cuz a Vocoder
is only Audio material that is processed or Synthesized thru MIDI messages.
If you can actually use the Mic in the sequencer and run the Vocoder Effect
to the Mic then its different. You can record MIDI but that MIDI can be played
only on the PA mashine, nowhere else, the track that will have the Vocoder
Effect will have nohing on it, no sound, the only way you would achieve sound
is if you run Audio thru that, otherwise it will be Mute.
But still deppends on what are you trying to achieve with the Vocoder and if
you completely understand its functionality, as i said, it is something that you
use to ONLY Synthesize already prerecorded or feed audio, its not a synth sound.

Dear BIG NEDIM!
THENK YOU VERY VERY VERY MUCH for your answer.
Sorry for replaying back only now.
I can actually use the Mic in the sequencer and run the Vocoder Effect
to the Mic.
SO-
You have write-
"…You can record MIDI but that MIDI can be played
only on the PA mashine, nowhere else, the track that will have the Vocoder Effect will have nohing on it, no sound,…"
And that’s exactly what happening after recording it in the sequencer.
SO-
You have written after that-
"…the only way you would achieve sound
is if you run Audio thru that, otherwise it will be Mute".
Can you explain how the way for running Audio thru that is?
If I will know how, I will have a way to test that recorded midi, and to know for sure how it is working in the PA.
Thanks.
