DrWho - July 2008 - Dark Entrance(Emergent Adventurers Mix)

I just completed this one - its another wacky electronica piece this month. The bass tune I was working on didn't pan out - yet.
This was difficult because I had collected all these cool sounds from the M3, but didn't note (nor could I remember) how I made them (bad Art

) . So some of them are not re-creatable - regrettably. So I had to work with what I had recorded.
This is another journey tune - I hope it takes you along. I used George's song naming style here - there were so many options.
So without further delay, double check your harness and supplies:

The odyssey to distant sonic memories.
It is unpredicable and it is a cool pilgrimage. I love the ambient sounds. At 01:40 (or so) we forge thru a groove and before you know it we are back on the musical mecca. We stumble in and out of the groove...and...the new sounds almost without notice. It does feel like a expedition. I like that!
I like what the M3 does. Very interesting...( not in the "I can't think of anything to say" interesting). No, it is an interesting voyage.
Thanks, Art!

This is a really great chill piece. A little short given the nice buildup. This has so many facets that deserve more time each.
The lead toward the end was a little strong but still a nice texture of sound.
Would love to hear more of this!

I'm gonna blast this one, volume up. Nice airy sounds there, and that panning blip. In comes some rhythm. Very nice cool chill. I like how the enevelopes open and close, I think that's what that's called, on the background pads. At 2:30 or so it becomes stereo, it sounded mono or panned center up until then. Interesting, I'm trying to think if I recognize any of these sounds or if I've started using any of these in my piece, hm. I would say, if this were my piece, I would downplay a bit of the intro and develop more the gorgeous chill rhythm with some more of that section, and the panning would be nice wider so it dances thru the spectrum more. Just some ideas. I think its great that you pieced this together from your mysterious fragments. That is no easy feat, believe me, I know, because I've done that too. I haven't done any sampling yet at all on my m3. My Aug song is still Triton and will be my last strictly Triton song for the near future. Now, I do agree that the voyage of sonic vistas does make this very interesting. It's almost a carnival of soft sounds. And, of course, I adore your title here. Nicely done, if I do say so myself.

I think the best way to describe it is "Perfect blending of sound scapes and textues"!
I love it, and I'm happy you've done it with the M3, it means that someday I would be able to use my own M3 with such sounds like yours
Thanks a lot for this one!

Very creative Art.
The segways are nicely done, and the sounds/patches, just incredible!
Nice work.

jazlover - glad you liked the journey - most of my tunes tend to do that - I can't help it actually. Hey - this Wed. is RTF @ Boston - Whoo Hooo!
JonSolo - Yes, it is too short. I ran out of ideas and time. The ending sounds are so different than the sounds in the beginning it is difficult to decide how much time each gets. The lead (@ 2:36) being strong meaning in volume?
george - The voice @ 2:30 has that stereo sound - everything is mono panned center. Yes - the later part is not fully developed. And I hate the abrupt faded ending - big indicator of incompleteness.
Diego - Thanks for the blending comment - the sounds from the beginning to the end are very different!. I am almost afraid of what you would do w/an M3!
Stephen and chordial - Thanxs for listening - glad you enjoyed the journey.
I think I need to stop doing chill pieces .....

Nice chill out tune with good, as usual, selection of sounds. I like the intro, in fact I'm working myself on the structure of my songs, trying to make them less predictible. I do not have many suggestions on this one. I see it more as an experiment and a quite sucessful one. I like the way it flows and I'll let it flow for a while.
looking forward to your next
