An mc-808?

it's a question ... yeah, an MC-808 ...

well, you could do it, then sell the 808 and get an esx + some extra cash..

I have both, and I'm keeping the esx and selling my mc808. sure, it sounds so much better on paper, but the 808 really kills my workflow, as editing is much more complex and time consuming than the esx. If you are a more patient man than I am, then sure, go for the 808, it's got a lot more potential, in the hands of the right person (not me).

hm.. a 250$ machine for a $500+ machine should be a no-brainer tho.. It's just, I've tried both, and would stick with the ESX any day for my style of working

yeah ... there's something about the 808 that doesn't grab me ...

where can someone get an ESX for 250$? Everything is super pricey here in the maritimes...

how much memory does the mc808 have?

Since the seller hasn't mentioned any extras, I'd assume it comes with the standard amount ...

I have an EMX-1, and despite it not having nearly the spec of the MC, I can sit down with it and inside an hour have the basis of a smokin track.

The MC, on the other hand, always seems to require 3 button pushes to do something you should only need one for. I find it kinda stifles my flow.

I bought the MC because my EMX was dying (and it is - most of the LEDs dont work anymore and the main display has problems). Even with all of that, it still runs rings around the MC just based on workflow."

I've heard some decent tracks made with the mc808. Has usb and more up to date memory format. If you can stomach working with the more advanced stuff with a computer then i'd say go for it, i definitely would but i've been eyeing up an mc808 anyway but i'm happy with my RS7000 which i just got back. Gives me eveything i need live. If you like the mc808 keep it and just get another esx if you want or if not sell it and get one anyway. Win win!

yeah I maxed out my 808, but I didn't even get around to import any samples to it... I'm selling mine to finance a Monomachine instead. but the ESX stays... it will be my last piece of kit to go

It's true. Having BOTH Electribes- which would cost about the same as an 808 is infinately more fun than the 808. They are much more creative and user friendly. eg you have to hook the 808 to a computer to edit most of the parameters. I ditched the 808- it could have been good-and expectations were high but it isn't. They will never be anywhere near as popular as the Electribes ever ever ever.

Didn't get the 808 ... but I did grab an ER-1 ... Glad I did ... great sound and dif. from ESX/EMX ...

Can't go wrong for $75 ... Too bad it's missing input level knob and delay is global (duh!) and can't even be turned off per part ... mutes can't be saved ... but the rest is great ...

Def. prefer the old knobs better even if they seem more fragile ...

I like the fact that ER-1 is less complex and more immediate ... ESX and EMX are great ... but ER-1 is more efficient, IMO ...

Played with all three in this new Electribe-centric formation for the first time tonight ... Lovely, lovely, lovely ...



BTW ... Under wraps to the right is a Jup-6 (lost its place to the 'Tribes) and a V-Synth ...
