Hi,
This is direct from Korg - not me...
How to Install Radias 2.0 on the M3
This download contains a folder named "M3SYS".
Copy the folder from your computer onto any USB storage device (MS-DOS formatted).
Important: Always back-up your sounds before doing an OS update. Be sure to save your PCG file to some form of USB media before proceeding, just in case. You can use the “Save PCG” or “Save All” commands found in Media mode.
Installing Radias 2.0:
1) Turn the M3's power ON.
2) Insert the USB storage device containing the [M3SYS] folder.
3) Select GLOBAL mode and execute the command "Update System Software" from the upper RH Page menu.
!!!CAUTION!!! DO NOT TURN OFF THE POWER DURING THE COMMAND EXECUTION.
4) The system will begin loading automatically.
5) When done, the display will read Completed. Please turn the power off, and then turn it on again. The M3 will start up using the new operating system.
Note: The message of "File/path not found" may be displayed when the command is executed.
Execute the install command again in that case.
If the error message "Error in reading from medium" or "Can't update system" is displayed, please redo the copying of the [M3SYS] folder to a USB storage device, making sure to first delete the folder from the USB device, and execute the install command again. If you still do not succeed, please try a different USB storage device, and redo the whole procedure.
Cheers.

First off, I would wait a bit, as we still need to convert the Drum Track assignments in that file into the V2 Producer order.Richardp wrote:Thanks
The problem i have is I've aready loaded the 2.0 EXPANDED upgrade and that works fine. but there is also a RADIASV2.ZIP upgrade that contains the file RADIASV2. PCG that is supposed to load in bank U-F.
I can't seem to figure out how to load it.
richardp
When that happens, the main issue is that you'll want to change the Bank Type of a given Program and Combi Bank to match RADIAS, not EDS to load this in. That can be done in Global Mode, using the Upper RH Page Menu. The file is set to User F, as an example.
Then you can just highlight the PCG file and press LOAD.

Jerry
Ha, I'm glad I found this thread again.
Hi Jerry,
I'm afraid I do not entirely understand what your writing. I can not use the RadiasV2.zip and RadcomV2.zip files yet? Drum track assignment not yet done? What does the rest you wrote mean. Sorry for being so ignorant. Do you have a E.T.A. on when this might be fixed so I can use Radias again. Or am I completely missing the point (all of your points)??
By the way, many thanks for everything you get involved with and accomplish for this M3 community, really!!

You are able to use the Factory preload bank (INT-F) just fine. You can also download the RADCOMV2 file fine, it loads into Combi INT-F bank.
We are not done converting the RADIASV2 Artist bank yet, we still have to fix the Drum Track assignments in it. So start there and wait for more news from us.
Let's keep it simple there for now. Let me know that you've got those INT-F Banks working fine.
OK?

Jerry
Hi Jerry,
Thanks for enlightening me. Things are clear on my radar screen again. I'm sure you'll let me know when the artist's Radias stuff is ready.
No hurries, no worries though.
I am travelling a lot these days and haven't been behind my darling M3 for too long. May be a few more weeks actually. This forum as well as KLF are a bit of home away from home to me.
Now I know what I need to do as soon as I can actually perform everything upgrade related. And I'll sure let you know if everything went well. Really appreciate your personal attention!
Many, many thanks for ALL the good stuff you're sending my (our) way!!

PS I know this doesn't belong here but I wanted you to know that the sticky pads problem can be definitely cured with my "tooth pick and a minute amount of silicone lubricant" cure. It repositions the pad in its "casing" if it is a bit off center. Careful is always wise but not too careful. You can't get to anything sensitive under the pad itself with the plastic toothpick. One does need to cut off its thinnest part though!!! You don't want it to break off and get lodged where you can't get to it anymore. I hope I'm making sense to you with this. It would help gain a lot of time and potentially money, while at the same time avoiding some stress.

Is anyone else having trouble loading this pcg? Is the download zip correct? I'm getting a 'file unavailable' error when i try to load the pcg from my usb stick.

That zip appears to contain a single file called "RDSV2_XP.PCG 2". Try removing that trailing " 2" from the name of the file before copying it to your M3.
HTH,
{edit: when I unzipped this one way on my Mac the PCG had " 2" on the end, but using another unzip tool I got the correctly named file. So maybe this isn't the problem here.}

Well, on my extracted file there is no 2 at the end, and I tried removing the underscore and loading the renamed file, but it still says 'file unavailable' My other pcg's are loading just fine.

LOL, god knows why I am looking at this ... I don't even own an M3 and I am so busy right now
The PCG file in that zip archive doesn't look like a valid PCG to me. In fact it looks more a tar archive or packed binary file. I think there's been a mistake here. Mac users could try renaming the PCG with a .bin extension and then try unpacking that.

Well, that one worked. Go figure. I bow to your magic. Now I'm wondering what to verify to see what they actually tweaked. Should I just browse thru the combis? I'm not sure what was there before regarding combis and drum tracks anyway.

The drum parts needed to be fixed/pointed to the correct drum kit Programs. That's the only fix, since all the rest is RADIAS-based and those Programs didn't change as they're not part of the Preload.georgeinar wrote:Well, that one worked. Go figure. I bow to your magic.
