Hi yo,
I have recently been playin with a demo of Traktor 3. However before I purchase I need to see a .tks midi map file to suit the Zero8.
Does anyone know where to get one?
I am waiting for a reply back from NI support about this but thought I would try here as well.
Cheers

I've just ordered my Zero8 and hopefully it will be with me in the next week or so, I can't wait!
Whilst I can send you mine when it's all set up, I would highly recommend creating your .tks file yourself, as you'll likely have your own ideas of exactly how you want everything set up. You'll also have a much better understanding of everything that's going on, controller-wise.
Start with just a very simple set up (2/4 decks, depending on your style, routed through audio or midi, depending on your preference, just the faders and EQ to start off with), start playing a set and just fiddling around. As soon as you decide you need a control, map it onto a logical place on the zero. Carry on with your set until you find you need something else, rinse and repeat. Eventually you'll end up with the controller set up for exactly the things you use in T3, and nothing more - in addition, you'll know exactly where all those controls are because you put them there!
Hope this helps,
FUs

I currently have a Zero8 and I am working with Traktor Pro and I am working on a .tsi file for it. I actually had issues programing the rotaries with Traktor 3 and now I am having strange response with Traktor Pro? Let me know if you have any issues Rufus.

are you a Zero 4 or 8 owner? wanted to get feedback from other users who are using Traktor 3 or TPro with using the "endless encoders" on the Zero 8. I am starting to come to the conclusion that the encoders cannot be properly used for effects parameters with TPro!

zero8 owner.
I built my setup with T3 and Live.
I don't use the endless encoders for the effects. I use it for looping, to scroll a track in a deck, to scroll a track in the preview player, to browse playlist or mp3 bank, to chang the master tempo...etc... etc...
Pan, ext1 & 2, FX send are better for the effects...
I bought print paper, i draw a customized zero8 and i sticked it on my poor zero8... nice and very usefull!!

thanks for the reply man...this is going to be the way I configure my EFX on my Zero8 as well. I have tweaked the encoders the best I could but cant get em as smooth as a relative\analog knob...since we lose a channel if we go internal mode I will use all the knobs on the Master channel for EFX's (which is more than enough) and use the encoders for there button functionality to trigger the effects on and off in TPro.
What are your settings for scrubbing in a deck in Traktor? I can smooth scrub going clockwise but going counter-clock I get mixed results.
My next steps is making labels once I finalize my .tsi file.

Hey Ivanek
Any chance I can get those settings for how you use your encoders? In both Traktor and Zero Edit?
Thanks

oups sorry, i forget you!
i will check that when i'll be at home, this week end i think, but i'm really busy... i'll give you my settings but it's nonsense i give you my .tks because i stayed on traktor 3, i use it in external mode. i have ableton too, and faderfox module to control traktor and live... So i think you won't able to understand.
Yes for scrubbing it's not a really good deal, but it's ok, fine for search in forward, and too sensitive for backward but it works for me.
Give me a mail address, it will be easier to send you printsreen...

no problem man...thanks for the reply. agreed about the TKS file but just wanted to know what settings you used to make the encoder smooth. It looks like you answered my question about scrubbing through tracks. I would like the encoders to move smoothly forward and back. I got a response from tech support regarding this and they are aware of this issue and should be fixed in the coming update????
P.S. How do you like that Faderfox? PM coming your way.

OK, I've finally got my Z8, and am loving it so far

I spent the day making my .tks file for use with 3.2, only to find (once I actually started playing a set) that I was getting the nasty squeaking after a bit in vista. GrrRRRRrrrr!
So I decided to give TPro a try, only to run into the same rotary problems that people have been describing in this thread - the rotaries work when turned one way, but not the other. I have a feeling this is more to do with TPro than the Z8 though, as when using the rotaries under T3, they worked perfectly. I've sent a message to the TPro beta list to see what I can turn up for you guys.
Incidentally, I've not noticed any hiss on this unit, however, from the sounds of it, it looks like Korg's "solution" was to install a gate circuit in the mixer - when making a noise from silent (eg_. starting your first track ), there's a slight delay while the gate disarms itself, before the sound kicks in, which is quite annoying. Can anyone with a newer model (ie. no hiss) Z8 confirm this?
