The long and short of it is:

1. You will have to wait till the next round, which isn't too far away. This one ends January 2009. Likely we will begin another round for February 2009. I do not know who will be in it or overseeing it, but George has done a great job thus far and I vote he hangs on!

2. You commit to writing one song a month that you can post in any form (completed or not, produced or not) and offer it here for others to listen/critique/compliment etc.

3. You can use any instruments, voice, percussion, keyboards, etc. that you feel your song needs.

4. In return for everyone else input on your music you MUST comment on each contributors song for that month. That helps the community and keeps everyone motivated about your music as well as their own.

If anyone else can think of anything I missed....

Perfect description Jonsolo, and thanks for the plug as well. Actually this is almost a classic thread in miniature, just because we do get asked this question now and then. I would hope that the next OSAM has great support and enthusiasm. As for my own music, as much as I may come off as this amazing songwriting force, I am struggling with a complete lack of inspiration. I think the book Tunesmith is sucking out my creative juices in a way, because it's a how-to for traditional songwriting styles, more like your songs, with melody, chord progressions, lyrics. And my style is so different that now I find I want to try some of the things I'm learning from the book yet I'm a bit timid to go that route and everything I do right now sounds overused and copycat. Well, I always come thru, though each month is getting harder.

But to rckndrroll: I'm glad you're interested. I would suggest getting involved from the commenting side in here as much as you can. Anyone is welcome to listen and comment. Also, if we get to know you better you'll have a better chance of getting people to jump on your songs (for now) in the Promote Your Music section. That's open to anyone and OSAMers are very often strolling about in there as well. We may in fact start up another OSAM in Feb or March of 09.
