I'm pleased to anounce that Korg is releasing the original ROM piano samples for the M3 as an expansion (EX-PCM04) as a number of users had requested from us.

The .kep file is 28.5 MB and a group of Programs are included, which default to load in User Bank G.

A new version of the Editor is also being released that provides a conversion command for fixing older Programs, Combis and Songs that were affected by the change in order of Programs.

We'll get the files posted sometime next week and will let you know the moment they're online.

Have a great weekend!

regards,

Jerry

That's a great way to support customers...
But I'm just wondering: why do you need the old piano samples, if you have these nicer new one sound set?

Thanks,
regards

A lot of people (myself included) prefer the old piano sounds when played in a mix with other instruments. It cuts through the mix a whole lot more.

I prefer the new piano sounds for solo performances - it sounds mellower and suits classical music a whole lot more.

It's such a shame we had to lose the first to get the second...now we get it back = awesome.

Oh yes!
It sounds nice to me, I agree to have te original one back...
Even considering you can work a little on the new sample set to fit better in the mix.
Having the old one as a free exb is great, BTW!

Once again, thanks Korg, I'm every day happier of my M3!

Any sign of these yet ? : )
Patience is a virtue; however, I'm not very virtuous today.
