Computer addict? Try the Nagger, free program (v2.26 29-Oct)

Post by philtipping »

Apparently computer over-use is a genuine health problem; if you find you:-
  • - can't drag yourself away from the computer
    - keep saying "I'll just finish ... etc."
    - start to skip meals
    - ignore your family & friends and other 'real' people :?
    - get vague & twitchy when away from the computer
    - get RSI-type aches & pains, etc.
then the Nagger may help; full version, not a demo (PC-only, sorry Mac & Linux guys :( ).
Details, screenshots & download from the Freebies, Software section on www.philizound.co.uk
Let me know if you find it any use; it's made me talk to my other half more ... not sure if this is good or bad
Phil.

Ha ha...this is a bit of an oxymoron eh? A "program" written for people who are too attached to their computers?

You're absolutely right Jon :) , I started using version 1 to avoid the symptoms when developing version 2.
Don't know about you, but on the music side I get totally involved with scoring/editing/processing audio on the PC, and my wife can easily spend all day with her photoshop editing.... and that's not to mention internet addiction, ebaying etc, etc. Computers seem to be taking over our lives in more ways than one :?
I had a look at existing programs, but I like to think this one scores with its simplicity; no keystroke/mouse monitoring to see how hard you're working, no statistics, no soothing music while you're resting (I kid you not!).
Phil.
