Is it possible to play a song and a style together in synch? It seems this cannot be done with te PA2x. The yamaha CVP305 has no problem with this.
Also, I can't find how to change pitch and tempo of MP3 file.
Can anyone help?

Pitch is very easy. Just hit the transpose button on the right. Speed can be adjusted in the player. Where it reads T0

No it is not possible. You can only play the realtime tracks (Upper 1-3, Lower) during MIDI or MP3 playback.

Kind regards,
Tommy

if you know what the tempo of your mp3 is, then can't you set the tempo of your style and start on a downbeat? It should work with little bit practice. If there are tempo variations, then i don't know how this would be possible.

The problem is that you have to go to the Song Play mode in order to playback the MP3, but you can only play styles in Style Play mode. Song Play and Style Play mode are completely separated from each other in the Pa series. Not an ideal situation, but this is how Korg has chosen to do it.

Kind regards,
Tommy

I don't have the mp3 board, so i didn't know. I play my audio files through my laptop, and then play the styles easily. It's really easy to do, as long as there's no tempo changes. It's just you have to carry one more piece of equipment.

Martin,
How do you do this? I tried this once, but i got lots of noise using the headphone jack. It's a brand new Toshiba laptop, and it has the standard 8" headphone jack.

No! Do not use the headphone jack for this. I use this and it works very well. I've never had latency issues with it and the sound is very clean.

It also has optical output. For the price it's a must have.

Sam, i bought a Behringer mixer while ago, and it came with a similar USB interface that i use with my laptop. It's also called U-Control, but when i saw the one on "zzounds" i noticed mine only has RCA Strereo inputs and outputs. It doesnt' have a headphone jack, volume wheel and the optical output. Those are really cool features. It'll probably be on sale on this friday. I'm glad Tania brought this up. I had to use the mouse to change the volume, if i wasn't close enough to the mixer, but with this you can do that directly on the interface.

What would it sound like if MP3 and Style were played together?

If the MP3 you are playing was NOT recorded from a digital device (i.e. like a keyboard) then you don't stand a chance of syncing any of it even if it was possible to play both together.

I am trying hard to come up with an application for this but can't think of one yet :?
