I have been searching high and low for all the info I can find on getting my Zero8 set up with Ableton. I know that technically it should all be straightforward, and there is a manual and everything - but I am still having some issues and would love some assistance.
Those of you using it with Ableton - how do you have your sound channels set up so that you have a cue channel? I guess I am a noob, but I am having some issues.
Right now I am trying to set up each ableton audio track channel on a mixer channel - I have the knob set to "midi" on each one so that I can do the midi mappings. I then am routing it to Channel 7 on the mixer for the Cue and then Channel 8 on the mixer for the master. I think that I am doing something wrong and that there is likely no reason I should be using 2 channels on my mixer for this?
Ultimately I want to be able to set each audio track in Ableton onto it's own mixer channel - I have no preference if sound is "in the box" or "out of the box" so to say. I just want to be able to control the parameters on screen and run at least 6 tracks at a time.
The other question I had was about mapping - those with experience, how did you lay things out? Clip start and stop - I was using A and B...
..But the other problem I was having, even with using the Editor, was that you have to press them in twice to get it to engage and disengage the clip. I checked toggle and momentary and the same thing. I think that I might be doing something wrong - but I just set up my Korg Nanopad with Traktor Pro and that was super easy using that editor and even changing assignment channels and all that....so it isn't like I am completely stupid when it comes to midi mapping.....
I am just looking for a really great conversation between Ableton and Zero8 users so that I can figure out the best way to get my mixer set up - and make things a bit easier for me. This is a terribly painful experience and even though I am learning things - it is taking me forever to try and figure out what I can.....and there is little out there to read to get assistance.
Thank you so much in advance!
