Sound module

Hi there, I'm kinda noob when it comes to keys, but today I spent all day browsing the web for the answers to my questions - I own Casio CTK-375 (ROMpler - is it right?) and would like to buy Korg workstation or sth similar- it has sound module integrated, but I don't understand, how is the actual sound generated - do I need some kind of amplifier or sth? sorry for the stupid questions - and one more thing - what's the best parameter of a keyboard that will show me the compatibility (roughly put duration) with PC programmes,etc - like if it has USB connector or sth else
