Export Display

Post by buhuhu »

Hi,

Considering that for PA800 keyboard, Korg doesn't have software for managing SET on computer (like Yamaha), it is possible in the future to make a software to EXPORT DISPLAY from korg PA800 to COMPUTER ?

It's easy way to work with mouse on a big display!!!

Best Regards

Hello buhuhu,

You can fit the optional VIF4 video interface board. This will allow you to output the screen image onto a very big monitor and it is very sharp and clear. However there is no mouse interface, so you still have to use the touch screen or other buttons for user inputs.

It would be very nice if any successor to the Pa800/Pa2x could support a mouse interface - especially for use with external monitors.

Best regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,

I know about VIF4.

Video standard for VIF4 is too old for 2009 year.

This card it is just for TV (PAL or NTSC) not for PC monitor or HDMI TV and resolution for PAL maxim is 720 x 576 and NTSC is 720 x 480.

If PA800 have OS like Unix, it's easy to EXPORT DISPLAY to other device.

VIF4 it is ANALOG video transmiter card NOT DIGITAL.

In my room I don't have a TV, I have a PC. :D

P.S. And mouse on the TV............... :)

Yes I know RCA composite video has some limitations. However I try to respond with "what can we as users do with what's available now" rather than bemoaning what we haven't got.

Anyway, some friends and I managed to make 6 hours of training DVD's based on video capture using the VIF4 and then processing it via a digital recorder and merging it in digital format using Adobe Premiere to use the screen video as a digital insert.

Also, many PC graphics cards will accept an RCA video feed input and will generate picture in picture for you on a PC screen. You can then take screen grabs for static image capture in documents etc.

Best regards,
Rob
