Legacy AU's not found in Logic AU manager

Hi!

I'm new to Logic, and I'm getting a little frustrated about a problem I have encountered. There might be a very simple solution to it, but I have not been able to find it. Been googling for a couple of hours and hysterically looking through the Logic manual.

I have the most updated version of the Legacy Collection installed on my MacBook Pro, running OSX 10.5.something. Now I would like to use the instruments with my newly purchased Logic 8. But, oh the horror, they were not in the Audio Units Manager.
I checked that the .component versions of the instruments were in USER/Library/Audio/Plug-Ins.
Then I tried deleting the file com.apple.audiounits.cache. That made Logic re-scan for plug-ins, but it did not find the legacy collection AU's. Looking in the Plug-Ins folder now, I can see that the components are gone.

Who can tell me what is going on, and why?

And how do I solve this :?:

PS: I already tried re-installing KLC.

Which KLC is this? If it's KLC-1, you need to purchase the KLC 1.2 upgrade (plus Syncrosoft key) which will make it Universal Binary compatible for an Intel-Mac.

I have KLC 1.2 and my Wavestation (1.2.1) component is in the plugins folder - but Logic doesn't see it. What else do I need to check, please?

I've seen Wavestation 1.6 advertised elsewhere - what's that?

i spent about 3 hours the other night installing KCDE, already having KCAE installed.

it was driving me bonkers - MDE-X didn't appear, then Legacy Cell vanished but re-appeared, then Monopoly vanished.

after about 2 hours and 50 mins of installing, uninstalling, re-installing, part installing etc. etc. i thought i'd better check syncrosoft. i'd only installed the license centre about two months ago so i'd assumed that it was well up to date. it wasn't.

so i updated syncrosoft license control centre and, lo and behold, everything appeared in the right place.

if only i'd thought of that in the first place.
