So im having trouble trying to do these, and im not sure but my friend bealives the right term is Quantize?

but what im trying to do is for example.
Play a piano Loop for the first 30seconds, then after 30seconds the piano stops and i bring in another sound, like a guitar or something for another 30seconds, then back to the piano..

But where can i find some tutorials on how to set this up?

ive read the manual and i learned some helpful stuff but just not all of it.

Hello,
No quantize is not the right term.
Sound like you're looking to simply change programs within a single track.
Is the reason you want to do this because you've run out of tracks?

no its not because of that, its just like, ok so im more into of the HipHop genre of music and what im trying to do is have a piano run for a "16 bar" verse and after the verse the Hook comes in which would be like a
"8 bar"verse, but i think what i need to do to accomplish this is to connect it to the computer and edit it then, i dont think you can edit it while under the m50.

It can be done on the sequencer.

Use Track 1 for the Piano.
Use Track 2 for the Guitar.

Record the "16 bar" verse on Track 1, using Auto Punch In, M001 - M016.
Record the "8 bar" verse on Track 2, using Auto Punch In, M017 - M024.
Go back to Track 1 and record using Auto Punch In, M024 - ????

That's one way to do it, If I'm understanding you, clearly.

Take a look at the pattern section in the manual. This would be an easy way to create the different sections you are talking about and would give you the freedom to change the order of those patterns after the fact. i have used this method for wedding processionals. I don't always know how long the aisle inthe the church will be. By adding or subtracting patterns I am able to customize my arrangement to match the time required.

example:

A-B-A-B-C-A-B-A

verses

A-B-C-A-B-A

Keep in mind that breakdowns are legal but break-ins are not.

Acid510,

On the main sequencer page, click on the Preference tab.
Under Recording Setup, select Auto Punch In and using the
data wheel, change M001 - M001 to M001 - M016.

Select the next track and setup M017 - M024, then back to the piano track and setup M025 - ????.
