Recording from an external sequencer problem

Hi

This is actually my first time to try recording with the TR (I have been using MIDI since 1986 on and off)

I have some MIDI tracks in Cubase - each with a distinct MIDI Ch.
the TR is connected through my RD700 (serves as controller)

the problem is that when I change the track in cubase - TR will always play the same track in the SEQ mode.
(I loaded a template song so each track/part has a different MIDI CH.)
Also - I recall a parameter that identifies the ID of each MIDI instrument in a MIDI setup - where can I set it up for the TR ?
