Hello! Just got my new M3-73. Like it but!!!! Have a problem.
I wanna use it together with my Yamaha T3. I wanna run some
of the functions on the T3 from the pads on the M3. Problem is
that I use one midi channel from the pad,I can see in the display
on the T3 that the M3 sends on several (2 or 3) midi channels at the same
time.
I wanna send one note on one single midich. but it sends on several.
channels. Why?
I use a part of the klav.(from the M3) to run the arranger, but on an another channel. That works fine.
What to do?

Hi Tryggve,
Take a look with me at page 386 in the Parameter Guide for M3 Expanded, latest version E6. You can download it here:
http://www.korg.com/uploads/Support/M3_ ... 600000.pdf
The section I am referring to is GLOBAL:P1 MIDI -> Ext2
As default all the pads are configured to send on the Global MIDI channel which in effect means that your external equipment will respond on all MIDI channels.
Now, if you change the MIDI channel on each PAD to say channel 2, then your external equipment will only respond to that channel. The neat thing is that you can have some PADs configured to say channel 2 and other pads to say channel 3, and then you can play different sounds on your external equipment depending on which pad is pressed.
After you made the changes, select "Write Global" from the drop down menu.
You can also add 12 extra chord-based PADs if you buy the Korg NanoPad unit. The 12 PADS on the NanoPad behave the same way as the PADs on the M3 as far as MIDI is concerned and can have chords assigned to each PAD. I would not recommend the Korg PadKontrol to you because those PADs can only be programmed with single notes, and are really more for use by drummers where only one note per instrument is needed.
If anyone from Korg USA is reading this, can I please have a software update for my PadKontrol which permits chords to be assigned to each PAD ? You know it makes sense
Best regards,
Rob

Thank you for your answer, How about the pads in combi mode,do they
effect on the midi out? I can have it one way in combi, and another in
global. Thanks for an answer. Tryggve

When you change PAD configuration in Global mode, and then exit, the changes you made work in both Combi mode and Program mode.
