Happy owner of a new Korg TR Workstation
Just writing to say how happy I am with my new Korg TR61. I had an Alesis Fusion 6HD before, and it had all sorts of OS problems. It got impossible to work with, so I traded it in for a TR and Emu ESI4000 sampler. I know its not new or the best, but the TR is very nice. Hats off to Korg. I've owned many workstations before, including the Korg M1, T3, Yamaha EX5 and 7, Alesis Fusion, MotifES6, and Roland Fantom X6. Its nice to have a Korg again. The features and sounds rival what I've had in the past. Super easy to use. Just a very happy user....
Current Studio: Korg TR61 Workstation, Tascam DP-008 8 track digital recorder, Behringer 1202FX Mixer, MXL Studio Condenser Mics, ART SGE Multi-effects processor, Digitech TSR-24S Effects Processor, Sony MDS-JE480 MiniDisc Recorder, Sony DTC-ZE700 DAT Recorder, and Event Project Studio8 Monitors.
Congratulations Jim.
I own a TR also, and couldn't be happier with it. I use it for live performance with the band, as well as recording at home, and it does a great job.
I should mention that I also own 3 other workstations, including an M3, but I love my TR, it's so simple, and sounds great!

Happy with my new TR Workstation
Stephen, thanks for the welcome.
The things I like the most about the TR are for example, the arps record their notes in the seq., being able to assign external midi devices in the seq, (so I can trigger my Emu sampler), large sequencer storage, cue lists, seq. user templates (love it), the sounds are more professional sounding than my old Fusion, and the percussion sounds are better than anything I've had in the past. Korg did a really good job. My next board is definetly going to be an M50. Although I like my TR so much, I might purchase another one just to have as a spare.
My old Alesis Fusion was a piece of junk. The controller data would change by itself, frequent crashes when editing sounds, and no control for external midi devices within the onboard sequencer. The TR is a very capable little machine.

Mine replaced two synths at gigs, I now split the TR in Combi mode, and if I need several instruments available all at once I can do it with just the TR, as long as none of them is an acoustic piano that is.

Just a tip, be gentle as possible with the number, and bank buttons, they tend to get stubborn after time.

I have a TR61 and it, along with two midi controller keyboards are all I use in the '70s style Brit prog act I'm in. I use custom combis for each song and spread out keyboard zones across all three keyboards. It has sample option and I have gone to great lengths to sample Mellotron, Chamberlain, Moog, etc. and it's a monster! Best keyboard purchase I ever made.
