Hellow,
As you might expect i have just bought a KP3 and there are a few things i don't understand or have a problem with:
1. When i connect the Kaoss pad to my computer with an usb-cable, turn on ableton live 8 and touch the touchpad for effects, nothing happens.
I installed the Windows vista drivers from the website and the new OS 2.0... I hope someone can tell me what I do wrong ?
2. Yesterday i made 4 guitar samples ( 1 in each bank.. ) but when I turned it off and on again + I connected it to my computer, my samples where gone and i couldn't see them on kaos pad editor aswell...
Is there a way to save them to the Kaoss pad or can you only save to a SD memory card?
Or what should i do when i have 4 samples and wan't to get them to my computer?
I hope someone can help me, thx allready.

Hy...I try to give u an answer...
1. If you have already installed driver and 2.0 it should work. If don't, try to go into MIDI setting in Ableton (Preferences>MIDI) and set the control surfaces (select None-Kaosspad3-KaossPad3 in the menu)
2. You can save your sample ONLY on a SD card...or you can save in your computer before turning off KaossPad with the editor.
I hope I helped You.
Bye

I still don't get any effect when i use it on my computer, not even when i adjust the preferences like you said... very strange
Also the PEAK indicator light on my KP3 doesn't light up or do anything..

the USB won't make an audio connection to your computer. It only carries MIDI for triggering/XY Pad Parameters, tempo sync, etc.
you need to hook up the audio ins and outs in order to do that.
Obviously that depends on your configuration... if you have an audio interface with plenty of ins and outs it is easier, or you can just hook it up to your PC's soundcard output.... but then if that is your only output then you'll only be able to record effects for every track (except by muting tracks, then you won't hear the others).
you need a connection to allow:
PC > KP3 (send sound to be effected)
KP3 > PC (send sound back to be recorded)

Follow what X-Trade said about connections.
If it doesn't work remember to configure MIDI controller also in the general setting of your PC.
With my Mac I go into Utility>MIDI Audio and add Kaosspad3 as MIDI controller.....
