Kaossilator: how do I tighten up my beats?

Yeah, so I just picked up the Kaossilator the other day. What a cool little box!

I was wondering, however, if there is a way to get tighter beats a la quantization. Are any of the arps able to help me out here? Just programming a 4/4 beat can be a bit tricky to get really tight.
Any input appreciated!

No quantization.
But there is a trick you can do to set up loops with perfect timing, if you don't mind stopping the loop for a bit.
Stop the loop. Press the loop rec/play button but keep holding it down.
Now anything you press on the pad will start the overdub looping instantly, keeping it in perfect sync with the existing loop.
Other than that, you just need to practice a lot to get learn how to hit the pad at the right time. You can also use the Kaossilator to generate the sounds and then use the KP3 to do the looping, which is a much more powerful combination because the KP3 has four sample pads and the ability to combine them with resampling.

Thanks for the reply, xmlguy. I'm still exploring the little box, and guess I came to realise your solution sometime last night
Also, I found that for a 4/4 beat, arpeggiator #3 (I think it was) is ideal. Well, this evening I'll have a look at the benefits of recording at slow tempos - if there are any
btw: I'd love to hook it up to a KP3, but am using the Roland SP-606 at the moment, which is also a great companion.

The 606 is good too. I have one also. It takes a bit more work to edit the loop, however it all works out if you set up most of the loops in advance. The 606 also has a lot of complementary features for the Kaossilator.

Yeah, definately. Plus it has some very cool effects, imo. I realised tonight that a way forward would be to just sample stuff into the 606 and do all editing later on. It kinda gets in the way of the workflow to edit loops points after each sampling.
And it would be great to throw a KP3 in this setup

arps are your friend

my beats are reliant on the arpegiator patters to stay perfect....
G.03 is home use G.03 for kick G.00/G.01/G.31 HighHats G.05 help on snare. also for basslines kick the tempo down to half speed and use arps such as G.08/G.07/G.04......
also another lovely jem i found is 1) Turn on the KO1 in dLy mode 2) set length to 16. 3) set tempo to 75 (wont work if lower than 75) now you have an amazing 32 beat length recording

Fitzgrade:
The Kaossilator has no midi or usb ports, so in order to use its sounds in FL Studio, you'd have to sample them into the computer and then load the files in FL.

Kp3 seems to make more powerfull my kaossilator. Nice idea.

(It def. will make you practice your timing
Yeah, it's a GREAT pair, as you can see in this video

I guess that's why they are making the KO Pro now -
they seem to "belong together"
