One easy way is to re-sample both kicks as one kick sound, and import that back into your drum kit which saves polyphony little bit. Or you could just add a second layer of midi events to trigger both kicks at the same time in your drum/percussion track. Out of curiosity, why would you want to layer two kicks ....?hockees wrote:Hi guys , i want to mix two drum kicks in one note in the drum section , is this possible ? cos i tried it but i couldnt get the two sounds voice together , the only thing that i got is the two kicks with different velocities not together, plz i need your help and thnx in advance.
I wanted to do this and could not find any other way except to sample the desired sounds and import that as wav in a custom drum kit. Main reason was that I wanted to play some small drum fills on the fly during live performance. Having two sounds like kick and cymbal on one key would have been a life saver. Roland Fantom could layer drum sounds on the same key and that was great till I sold my Fantom. I don't see individual drum sound layering in a drum kit in PA800. Let me know if there is a way to do this.

hockees,
You didn't mention which model you have but if it's the Pa2X/800 then creating a new sample consisting of the multiple kicks you want can all be done internally. If you have the Pa500/588 then creating a new sample is not possible.
No matter which version Pa you have, you could always create a new drum kit that has the additional kick in the same key location as an existing kit with a kick you like and simply assign the original and new kit to Upper sound 1 and 2 respectively and then set the key ranges of those two parts at the very bottom or top keys and adjust the track transpose for each to get the wanted sounds on the chosen keys. The down side is you are wasting two tracks just for the kick. So, what about using the Pads? This goes for what adminrxb is trying to do as well. Record the hits you want to a pad like a kick and crash, or a snare and closed hi hat, or two separate kicks together, etc.
But actually for the double kick issue, why not just assign the two kicks you want to trigger simultaneously on adjacent keys like B1 and C2 just like the factory kits. It isn't that hard to hit both of those keys at the same time.
