We should be patient

when the first time Triton series came out, there a lot of empty combi banks too.. but within the time, Korg has added much of combis into the latest series of triton
i think korg give us a high flexibility to build our own combis. there are so many free M3 combis over the internet. and i've got some and fill half of my combis...

No, Korg please don't do that. It so hard to manage system with all slots filled since you always should think about not destroying a valuable combi by changing something somewhere. I have that bad experience with X50, which has all slots filled - there is no room for innovation no room for user creativity with X50.

After X50 experience I certainly felt revealed when I found that m3 has free slots and if there were no free slots I certainly didn't spend my money on m3.
Hey folks where is the problem? If free/unfilled system is making you sick you can always fill it up yourself for example check this link:

There is no Empty banks on M3, it has over 600-700MB of ROM data.
You have to Upgrade your synth to the XPanded verson then all banks
are full...and more...

well, I guess default 64MB of sample ram can be filled upgrading to xpanded, but thankfully there are lot of space on M3 for user programs and combis (User banks are filled with default/inicialized settings) to be created using the samples already preloaded.

gjvti, unlike other workstations, Korg's workstations... M3, X50.. etc have all the sounds slots user writeable... so, even if there are combi sounds in all of the banks, you can overwrite them with your own... You can think of the empty, if you don't like some of them.

Yes I know that, but selective replacement of programs, needs lot of effort and for convenient usage it could end up with the rearrangement of programs - what is certainly not recommended even by korg! I think if there are new programs in new os release, installing them should be an option not automatic. And as I said, there is no problem obtaining new programs and combis from korg or third parties -
check the soundware section under support tab

Hi. As a future owner of M3, I have to ask.. Did the actual upgrade to Xpanded delete some combis? Or there is there a lack of them in general? Thanks.

Much investment of time and skill is required to create good combis with good Karma. Although I don't know this to be a fact, I suspect Korg themselves ran out of time and budget to produce any more themselves. Despite this, there are several combi sets that Korg did produce for the people who purchased the EXB-RADIAS card, and which are free downloads at
http://www.korg.com
Anyway, there are so many after-market Combis available that you can very quickly fill all the available Combi banks. For example, "Catalyst-1" from Karma Labs, and the three sets of Programs and Combis from Kid Nepro are first class examples of commercial combis.

Also I'd also recommend all of the free Programs and Combis from Qui Robinez and Dan Stesco and other generous and kind musicians here:

P.S. My personal computer has a 1 TB hard disk fitted. Why didn't the manufacturer fill it with useful software for me?
Best regards,
Rob
