Micro X is acting weird

Just recently, my Micro X started acting up. It seems whenever I hit the keys now, whatever sound I have set up starts to do a strange warbling effect with the pitch. It's almost like the note is going in and out of tune. Does anyone know what might be causing this? I really can't do anything with the keyboard til' I figure it out since it won't stay in tune.

That sounds bad. Maybe you should contact your local retailer or Korg support. Maybe the internals have gone bad somehow.
Is your Micro X still under warranty?

Unfortunately the warranty is expired. Another weird thing is that when I have the Micro X midi'd to my MPC1000, it makes the samples loaded in the MPC play in weird pitches.

Today I noticed the pitch wheel lever is no longer working either, I don't know what's going on.

hi GunsOfNavarone!
that is how the micro-x reacts with a defective joystick.
happened to me today for the second time...
this time i'll try to fix it myself, because i am not willing to pay for another repair. shouldn't be too difficult.
mine had and has now again the same symptoms you describe.
so i opened my micro-x a few hours ago and this is what i saw:
the left and right wires separated from the connector.
i think the mechnical stress on the wires when manipulating the joystick is just too much too handle for the connection cable.
so now i am thinking about soldering it back to the connector, which will foreseeable lead to the next failure...
better alternative could be to replace the connectorstrings with a new one and simply cut the original wires and connect it by a terminal strip (hopefully a 3 pin-fan controller-cable for PCs will fit, have to find one and try).
hope this helps!

wow Kossi, thanks, I'll open mine up and try to patch it up this weekend.
EDIT: just opened it up and sure enough the middle wire had broken off the connector!

so. my fix, quick and dirty:
works like a charm
edit:
if i had found one:
the connector of one of these vintage cables used to connect a cd-rom-drive with a soundblaster-soundcard should fit perfectly:

It's good to know that this is easy to fix, should it ever happen to me

I repair it myself, too!
