r3 and ableton 7 interferance on recording sequences

hi, i have set my r3 up using the usb cable to my mac book pro. iam sequencing it through ableton 7. The problem is that when i go to record the r3 sound back through my m-audio firewire soundcard i and get horrible interferance. i guess its the loop of the usb connection and the audio back in. how do i sort this any help would be much appreciated.

Hi,

I think the problem is with the volume controls of the M-audio/ R3, because with the USB you just can get MIDI feedback, not audio feedback.

Few days ago I had a similar problem with the ableton. I had recorded some voices and when I was listening the clips, some of them was so distorted. I don't know why it happened...

thanks for the help but still got this problem. even spent £40 on a art cleanbox hum eliminator but still the noise is there. so mad.
