Xpanded problem

Hi everyone
I've had my M3-61 for a few months now, bought on ebay but virtually new. It came as Xpanded and with EXB-Radias. On start up the screen says Xpanded version 2.0.0 and EXB radias version 2.0
I have got it to load EXPCM04.kep automatically and although EXPCM 01,02 and 03 are listed I cannot load them - I get a message 'file or path not found'
Furthermore many voices and combis are named in various banks but do not sound eg Brasstax Ex1&2, Endless Brass Ensemble Ex2 and Big Band Unison Ex1&2

Are these silent voices and combis anything to do with the Xpanded package . I have downloaded the Xpanded package from Korg but I'm reluctant to reinstall it in case I mess things up. Where would I get the EXPCM 01,02 and 03 from?
I'd be grateful for any advice
Cheers
Peter

Hi Peter,

First read this:

http://karma-lab.wikidot.com/korg-m3:up ... r-firmware

And then read the articles indexed at the bottom.

Rob

Hi Rob
I'm grateful for your quick response - I will read, assimilate and act on that info. I presume that re-installing the Xpanded upgrade will not result in any glitches . A quick read of the Wiki leads me to believe that although the Xpanded upgrade was already installed when I bought it the fact that the USB stick containing the files wasn't with it meant that some of the combis and voices etc were unable to be loaded.
Thanks again for your help
Peter

Hi Peter,

You don't have to re-install OS 2.00, just do the rest! And you will need a USB stick with the four EXPCM**.KEP files inserted at all times!

Best regards,
Rob

Hi Rob
It all worked out fine so thanks again. My only problem now is that I can't have all 4 PCM.kep files loaded at the same time as each fills RAM 1. I guess I'll have to buy some more memory - presumably the EXB-256.

Yes unfortunately there's no escaping that one. The EXB-M256 costs $99 from Korg USA's on line shopping web site. I may be able to assist if you have no friendly USA dealer you can contact, in which case send me your address and phone number in an email (not via forum). The email button is below.

Best regards,
Rob

I'm so glad I joined this forum. I was having the exact same issue and scoured Korg.com, even searching on "EX-USB-PCM03" and got nothing. I finally came to the same deduction that I'd just reload everything.

Thanks for asking the question, the answer and saving me tons of time. :D
